A RESOLUTION GRANTING PERMISSION TO THE STATE OF FLORIDA
DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION TO RENAME STREET SIGNS ON U. S. HIGHWAY 1
LOCATED IN THE VICINITY OF SPANISH LAKES MOBILE HOME PARK LYING IN
SECTION 26, TOWNSHIP 36 SOUTH, RANGE 40 EAST, ST. LUCIE COUNTY, FLORIDA.
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of St. Lucie County, Florida, has made the
following determinations:
1. Section 336.05(1), Florida Statutes, authorizes the Board of County
Commissioners to name and rename streets and roads lying outside the boundaries of any
incorporated municipality.
2. The Property Acquisition Division was asked to verify the names on the street signs
on U. S. Highway 1 in the vicinity of Spanish Lakes Mobile Home Park. The overhead signs at
this location reads Spanish Lakes Blvd. The name of the street on the east side of U.S. Highway
1 is known as Mediterranean Blvd and the name of the street on the west side of U. S. Highway
1 is known as Los Lagos Ln. U. S. Highway 1 is a State of Florida right-of-way and the signs were
installed by the Florida Department of Transportation. The Department of Transportation has
asked the County to give them permission to change the names on the overhead signs and
median signs from Spanish Lakes Blvd to Mediterranean Blvd N and Los Lagos Ln. The County's
Road and Bridge Division has reviewed and approved the signs being changed.
3. The signs are owned and maintained by the Florida Department of Transportation
a State of Florida right-of-way.

NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of St. Lucie
County, Florida:
A. The County grants permission to the State of Florida Department of
Transportation to change the names on the overhead signs and median signs from SPANISH
LAKES BLVD to MEDITERRANEAN BLVD N and LOS LAGOS LN on U. S. Highway 1, a State of
Florida right-of-way.
After motion and second, the vote on this Resolution was as follows:
