RESOLUTION 01-309
QUALIFIED TARGET INDUSTRY
TAX REFUND PROGRAM
A RESOLUTION BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY
COMMISSIONERS OF ST. LUCIE COUNTY, FLORIDA
RECOMMENDING THAT A-1 TRUSSES, LTD., INC. BE
APPROVED AS A QUALIFIED APPLICANT PURSUANT TO
S.288.106, FLORIDA STATUTES; AND PROVIDING AN
APPROPRIATION OF $45,000 AS LOCAL PARTICIPATION
IN THE QUALIFIED TARGET INDUSTRY TAX REFUND
PROGRAM FOR FISCAL YEARS 2004 THROUGH 2007, AND
PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of St. Lucie County, Florida, based on the
testimony and evidence, including but not limited to the staff report, has made the following
determinations:
The business under consideration is an expansion of an existing Florida truss
manufacturing company, specifically A-1 Trusses, Ltd., Inc.; and
A-1 Trusses, Ltd., Inc. proposes to locate in St. Lucie County on St. Lucie Boulevard just
south of the St. Lucie County International Airport; and
A-1 Trusses, Ltd., Inc. will enhance the County's economic development efforts and
make a capital investment of $4.5 million in St. Lucie County; and
A-1 Trusses, Ltd., Inc. will create 75 jobs with wages that exceed average local wages,
enhance the County's economic development efforts and assist in alleviating the
County's higher than average unemployment rate; and
The St. Lucie County Board of County Commissioners has committed to granting A-1
Trusses, Ltd., Inc. a Job Growth Investment Grant of up to $45,000 based on $600 per
job for the seventy-five (75) new jobs created;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE GOVERNING BOARD OF ST. LUCIE
COUNTY, FLORIDA THAT:
The Board hereby recommends A-1 Trusses, Ltd., Inc., be approved as a Qualified
Target Industry Business pursuant to Section 288.106, Florida Statutes;

The necessary commitment of local financial support for the Qualified Target Industry
Business for the Qualified Target Industry Tax Refund Program exists in the form of
the Job Growth Investment Grant funds in the amount of $45,000;

This amount will be available in accordance with the guidelines set forth by the
Office of Tourism, Trade and Economic Development (OTTED) and these funds
represent the "local participation" required by Section 288.106, Florida Statutes; and
The County Administrator is directed to forward a copy of this resolution to Enterprise
Florida, Inc. and A-1 Trusses, Ltd., Inc.
