HomeMy WebLinkAbout02-086RESOLUTION NO. 02-86 A RESOLUTION AMENDING RESOLUTION NO. 87-184, AS AMENDED, BY AMENDING THE PENALTIES FOR CERTAIN VIOLATIONS OF ARTICLE II (ANIMAL CONTROL) OF CHAPTER 1-4 OF THE ST. LUCIE COUNTY CODE OF ORDINANCES AND COMPILED LAWS AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of St. Lucie County, Florida (the "Board"), has made the following determinations: 1. On September 29, 1987, the Board adopted Resolution No. 87-184 which established penalties for violations of Article II (Animal Control) of Chapter 1-4 of the St. Lucie County Code of Ordinances and Compiled Laws. 2. On September 27, 1994, the Board adopted Resolution No. 94-210 which established penalties for violations of provisions added to Article II (Animal Control) of Chapter 1-4 pursuant to Ordinance No. 94-05. 3. The costs of enforcing the County's animal control ordinance have increased substantially since the adoption of Resolution No. 87-184 and Resolution No. 94-210. 4. It is appropriate and necessary to increase the amount of certain penalties established under Resolution No. 87-184, as amended, in order to meet the rising cost of providing animal control services to the unincorporated areas of the County. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of St. Lucie County, Florida, Resolution No. 87-184, as amended, is hereby further amended as follows: 1.
