A RESOLUTT. ON DESIGNATING A SPEED
OF 40 MPH FOR NORTHBOUND AND SOUTHBOUND
TRAFFIC ON SELVI'FZ ROAD BETWEEN MIDWAY
ROAD AND &LADES CUT-OFF ROAD IN
ST. LUCJ:E COUNTY, FLOI~DA
WHEREAS~ the Board of County Commissioners of St. Lucia County, Florida,
has made the following determinations,
Section 3~16. Z89 (2)(b), Florida 5tatutes, authorizes the Board to
set speed zones altering such speeds, both as to maximum and minimum,
after investigation determines such a change is reasonable and in
conformity to criteria promulgated by the Department of
Transportation.
The Road & Bridge Division's Traffic Operations Section of the Public
Works Department has recommended that a speed limit of 40 mph be
designated for Northbound and Southbound traffic on Selvitz Road and
that Speed Limit signs be erected on Selvitz Road.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE ZT RESOLVED bythe Board of County Commissioners
of St. Lucia County Florida:
A Speed Limit of 40 mph is hereby designated on the East side of
Selvitz Road from a point at the North of the North right-of-way
of Midway Road to a point South of the 5outh right-of-way of Glades
Cut-off Road for a total distance of 1.6 miles.
A Speed Limit of 40 mph is hereby designated on the West side of
Selvitz Road from a point at the South of the South right-of-way of
Glades Cut-Off Road to a pointNorth of the North right-of-way of
Midway Road for a total distance of L6 miles.

The St. Lucie County Road and Bridge Manager is hereby directed to
erect 40 mph Speed Limit signs for Northbound and Southbound traffic
on Selvitz Road from the intersection of Midway Road to the
intersection of Glades Cut-off Road.
The County Administrator is hereby directed to provide copies of
this resolution to the Sheriff of St. Lucie County, and to the St.
Lucie County Road and Bridge Manager.
