A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS
OF ST. LUCIE COUNTY, FLORIDA AUTHORIZING THE
COMMISSION CHAIR TO EXECUTE AND F/LE A JOINT
PARTICIPATION AGREEMENT WITH THE FLORIDA
DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION, DISTRICT 4, IN THE
AMOUNT OF $200,000 TO IMPLEMENT AN AUTOMATIC VEHICLE
LOCATION (AVL) SYSTEM.
WHEREAS, the Florida Department of Transportation, District 4, and the Board of
County Commissioners of St. Lucie County, Florida, desire to participate jointly to
implement an Automatic Vehicle Location (AVL) System for improvements to the Council
on Aging of St. Lucie, Inc. in the provision of transit service; and
WHEREAS, the AVL System will improve the agency's service routes and vehicle
fi'equencies; and
WHEREAS, public transportation is vital to the quality of life and economic well-
being of the citizens of St. Lucie County, Florida.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RES OLVED by the Board of County Commissioners
of St. Lucie County, Florida:
That the Chair of the St. Lucie County Board of County Commissioners is
hereby authorized to execute and file a Joint Participation Agreement with
the Flor/da Department of Transportation, District 4, in the amount of Two
Hundred Thousand Dollars ($200,000).
2. Effective date: This Resolution Shall become effective upon its adoption.
