WHEREA$, the Board of County Commissioners of St. Lucie County, Florida, has made
the following determinations:
Z. The Mount Olive Missionary Baptist Church was organized in April, Zc)03,
representing a rich history of 100 years to this city, county, state and nation.
2. The main goal of this religious institution is to hove its congregation live more
productive and fulfilling lives.
3. The first church preschool ot Mount Olive was held in the church's annex for the
purpose of enhancing the spiritual and educational growth of its children. Through the strong
teachings of Mount Olive, parents were comfortable leaving their children in the safe
environment in order to work outside the home.
4. Mount Olive continues to be a cornerstone of Florida's religious education ministry
by providing programs for children, families, adults and elders through enriching their
spiritual and educotional understanding of the world.
5. Although the original church organizers are now deceased, they were visionary
pioneers who left behind a rich foundation for Mount Olive to continue to build upon.
NOW, THEREFORE BE ZT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of St.
Lucie County, Florido:
Z. This [~oard does hereby congratulate the k~ount Olive Missionary Baptist Church
on its "100TM YEAR ANNTVERSARY" which is being celebrated on April 27, 2003.
2. This Board urges the citizens of St. Lucie County to recognize this Z00*h Yeor
Anniversary of Mount Olive Missionary I~aptist Church on April 27, 2003.
PASSED AND DULY ADOPTED this 22"a day of April, 2003.
