pursuant to the reqfftrements of the Application.
4. The Chailxnan of the Board of County comn:Ussioners is authorized to submit the application and a copy of
this resolution to the Department o ? Health, Bureau of Office of Emergency Medical Services.

A RESOLUTION APPROVING THE STATE OF
FLORIDA, DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH, BUREAU OF
EMERGENCY MEDICAL SERVICES, 2002-2003
EMERGENCY MEDICAL SERVICE COUNTY GRANT
APPLICATION AND AUTHORIZING THE CHAIRMAN
TO EXECUTE AND SUBMIT THE APPLICATION
WHEREAS, the Board of County comrmssioners of St. Lucie County, Florida, has made the following
determinations:
1. Pursuant to Section 40~ .31 (4) and Section 420.113, Florida Statutes, the State &Florida has established an
Emergency Medical Services Trust Fund consisting in part of a portion of each fmc for every municipal and county
moving violation and driving under the influence conviction.
2. Under Section 401.113, Florida Statutes, a portion of the funds deposited into the Emergency Medical
Services Trust Fund by St. Lucie County from July 1, 2002 through and including June 30, 2003, and remaflfmg funds
from the 2002-2003 award, plus any interest earned will be used to fund pre-hospital emergency medical services in St.
Lucie County..
3. The Board of County Commissioners may disburse funds dispensed to the County under Section 401.113,
Florida Statutes, to the St. Lucie County Fire District as a licensed emergency service provider operating in St. Lucie
County.
4. The St. Lucie County Fire District has certified that die request is for an improvement or expansion of its
pre-hospital emergency medical sc rvices.
5. Prior to any disbursements of funds from die Emergency Medical Trust Fund, the St. Lucie County Fire
District will extend the Interlocal Agreement with St. Lucie County to ensure that the request will be funded and
permitting the County to audit the use of funds disbursed under the grant.
NOW, THEREFORE, 3E IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Comtmssioners of St. Lucie County,
Florida:
1. The attached Application for Funding County Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Award is incorporated
herein and made a part thereof.
