A RESO.UTION ALLOWING THE DOWNTOWN
BUSINESS ASSOCIATION OF FORT PIERCE, INC.,
A NOT =OR PROFIT CORPORATION, THE USE OF
THE SECOND FLOOR OF THE PARKING 6ARAK~E ON
SOUTH SECOND STREET IN FORT PIERCE ON
SATURDAYS FOR A SUMMER FARMERS MARKET
WHEREAS, the )owntown Business Association of Fort Pierce, Inc., a not for
profit organization, has requested the use of the second floor of the parking garage
on 5outh Second 5tree- in Fort Pierce on Saturdays for twelve (12) weeks beginning
on ,Tuly 5, 2003, for a summer formers market.
WHEREAS, Sec-ion 125.38, Florida Statutes provides that any not for profit
organization wishing to Jse any real or personal property that may be owned by any
county or this state or by its board of county commissioners, for public or community
interest and welfare, m~y apply to the board of county commissioners for a lease of
such property.
WHEREAS, the ~oard has determined that such property is required for such
use and is not needed or Saturdays for County purposes.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE TT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners
of 51. Lucia County, Florida:
1. The Board d3es hereby grant the Downtown Business Association of Fort
Pierce, ];nc. permission to use the second floor of the parking garage on South Second
5treat in Fort Pierce, F orida for the operation of o summer farmers market.
2. The term of this use sholl be on Saturdays for twelve (12) weeks beginning
on Saturday, ~Tuly 5, 2003, and ending on Saturday, September 13, 2003.
3. The Boarc further determines that for the use of the facility, the
Downtown Business Association of Fort Pierce, Inc. shall pay the sum one dollar and
00/100 ($1.00).
After motion end second, the vote on this r`esolution was as follows:
