LUCIE COUNTY, FLORIDA WHEREAS, County, 1. progress done to 2. women in the United States, followed by pulmonary disease, and pneumonia. 3. Women are disproportionately the Board of County Commissioners of St. Lucie Florida, has made the following determinations: National Women's Health Week celebrates the extraordinary in women's health and recognizes that more needs to be safeguard the health of women for generations to come. Heart disease is the number one cause of mortality for cancer, stroke, chronic affected by other debilitating diseases, such as osteoporosis, autoimmune disorders, schizophrenia, and depression. 4. Women from all walks have unique health needs that of life and at every stage of life should be addressed in their own right; and women can promote health and prevent disease and illness by taking simple steps to improve their physical and mental health as they care for their families and others. 5. Research and study indicates the need to address women's health holistically and throughout the lifespan, increase awareness of women's health Lssues, advocate access to the most advanced health care technologies for all women, and encourage women to take action that will lead to better health. NOW, THEREFORe, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of St. Lucie County, Florida: 1. This Board recognizes and supports addressing the special health needs of women in our county and does hereby proclaim May 11, 2003, through Eay 17, 2003 as "WOMEN'S HEALTH WEEK" in St. Lucie County, Florida. 2.
