LUCZE COUNTY, FLORZDA, STAT]:N~ ]'TS 'rNTENT TO USE THE UNZFORM METHOD OF COLLECr'J:N-~ NON-AD VALOREM ASSESSMENTS FOR THE COLLECTZON AND DTSPOSAL OF Sol'rD WASTE; DESCR'rB'rN~ THE AREA SUB3'ECT TO THE ASSESSMENT; STA'r]:N~ A NEED FOR THE LEVY; PRov'rDTN~ FOR MA'rI'rN~ THE RESOLUTION; AND PROVZDI'N~ AN EFFECTIVE DATE WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners for St. Lucie County, Florido (the "Board") is considering the evy of a non-ad valorem special assessment to provide solid waste collection and disposal service to improved residential properties within the unincorporated area of St. Lucie County (t~e "Collection and Disposal Service"); and WHEREAS, the Board intends to use the uniform method for collectin9 non-ad valorem special ossessmen-s to fund the cost of the Collection and Disposol Service as authorized by section 197.$632, Florida Stotute$; and WHEREAS, on May 6, 2003, the I~oard held a duly advertised public heoring to consider the adoption of t ~is resolution, proof of publication of this hearing is attached hereto ond made a part he,eof as Exhibit "A"; and, NOW, THEREFORE. BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of St. Lucie County, Florida, as fo lows: Section :1: Commencing with the tax statement mailed for the 2004-;~00§ Fiscal Year, the Board intends to use the uniform method of collection as authorized in section 197.3632, Florida Statutes, to collect non-ad valorem assessments to be levied to provide the Collection and Disposal 5¢rvice. Section 2. A legal description of the boundaries of the real property subject to the levy is set forth in Exhibit "B'. Section 3. The I~oard hereby determines that the levy of the assessment is needed to fund the cost of the Co lection and Disposal Service. Section 4. Upon ~doption, the Courtly Attorney is hereby directed to send a copy of this resolution by Unite~ States mail to the Florida Department of ~evenue ~nd ~he S~. Lucie County Proper~y Appreiser end Tex Collector. ~mc~ion B. This ~esolu~ion shall be effective upon adoption.
