EFFECTIVE DATE
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners for St. Lucie County, Florido (the
"Board") is considering the evy of a non-ad valorem special assessment to provide solid waste
collection and disposal service to improved residential properties within the unincorporated
area of St. Lucie County (t~e "Collection and Disposal Service"); and
WHEREAS, the Board intends to use the uniform method for collectin9 non-ad
valorem special ossessmen-s to fund the cost of the Collection and Disposol Service as
authorized by section 197.$632, Florida Stotute$; and
WHEREAS, on May 6, 2003, the I~oard held a duly advertised public heoring to
consider the adoption of t ~is resolution, proof of publication of this hearing is attached
hereto ond made a part he,eof as Exhibit "A"; and,
NOW, THEREFORE. BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of St.
Lucie County, Florida, as fo lows:
Section :1: Commencing with the tax statement mailed for the 2004-;~00§ Fiscal
Year, the Board intends to use the uniform method of collection as authorized in section
197.3632, Florida Statutes, to collect non-ad valorem assessments to be levied to provide the
Collection and Disposal 5¢rvice.
Section 2. A legal description of the boundaries of the real property subject to the
levy is set forth in Exhibit "B'.
Section 3. The I~oard hereby determines that the levy of the assessment is needed
to fund the cost of the Co lection and Disposal Service.
Section 4. Upon ~doption, the Courtly Attorney is hereby directed to send a copy
of this resolution by Unite~ States mail to the Florida Department of ~evenue ~nd ~he S~.
Lucie County Proper~y Appreiser end Tex Collector.

DESCRZPTZON OF COUNTY URBAN SERVTCE AREA
The County Urban Sennce Area is described as that portion of the unincorporated area
of the County lying to tie east of the following described line: begin at the point
Tnterstate 95 enters the County from Indian River County and runs southerly along
Tnterstate 95 to Angle Road; then run westerly along Angle Road to Florida's Turnpike;
then run southerly along Florida's Turnpike to Picos Road; then run westerly along Picos
Road to Gentile Road; t~en run southerly along Gentile Road to Okeechobee Road; then
run easterly along Okeechobee Road to Florida's Turnpike; then run southerly along
Florida's Turnpike to Tnberstate 95; then run southerly along Interstate 95 to Glades
Cutoff Road; then run westerJy along Glades Cutoff Road to C-24 Canal; then run
southerly along C-24 Canal to 3uliette Avenue; then run westerly along .luliette Avenue
to Salvatierra Boulevard; then run southerly along Salvatierra Boulevard to Tanforan
Boulevard; then run easterly along Tanforan Boulevard to Interstate 95; then run
southerly along Intersta-.e 95 to the point at which it enters Martin County.
