A RESOLUTION OF THE ST. LUCZE COUNTY BOARD
OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS IN SUPPORT OF
THE MARINE RESOURCES COUNCZL'S APpITCATION
FOR A 6RANT TO PURCHASE INDRIO SCRUB II
WHEREAS, the Marine Resources Council of East Florida (MRC) is applying for a
Florida Communities Trust (FCT) Florida Forever grant to purchase properties involved in o
project titled Zndrio 5cru~ II and to remove exotics in the area; and
WHEREAS, the pfc party to be purchased is within the boundaries of St. Lucia County;
and
WHEREAS, the purchase and management of the property will inure to the benefit of
the residents of St. Lucia County, as well as visitors to the County, and will compliment St.
Lucia County's Indrio North Savannas and Indrio Blueway Buffer projects; and
WHEREAS, in order for MRC to give FCT reasonable assurances that it can accomplish
the project and manage t~e site in perpetuity, St. Lucia County's pledge to carry out MRC
obligations if it should roi is necessary;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE ~1' RESOLVED BY THE St. LUCIE COUNTY BOARD OF
COUNTY COMMISSIONERS, that:
The MRC ap 31ication for o grant to purchase properties included in the Indrio
Scrub II project and for the removal of all exotics from the property has the
full support of the St. Lucia County Board of County Commissioners.
The County in a show of its support, and pursuant to 5action 9K-7.003(7),
Florida Administrative Code, hereby pledges to take aver all responsibilities of
MRC relatec to the grant in the event that MRC ceases to exist or is otherwise
unable to carry out its responsibilities for any reason. Such responsibilities
would incluoe managing the project site pursuant to the terms and conditions
outlined in the FCT grant application.
The County is willing to be named os a co-signer on the Grant Agreement and
accept title to the property if MRC no longer holds title. The County is willing
to provide a~y other assurances to the FCT as deemed necessary to adequately
protect the public interest.

This resolution was moved for adoption by Commissioner Coward, and the motion
was seconded by Commissioner Bruhn, and upon being put to o vote, the vote was os
