DTN~ AN EFFE(; I -'/E DATE WHEREA$, The Board of County Commissioners of 51. Lucia County, Florida, has made the following determinations: t. The Medisal Examiner of the Nineteenth ~Tudicial Circuit (the "Medical Examiner") is required by Section 406.11, Florida Statutes, to prepare and issue a Cremation Certificate indicating the cause of death for each cremation performed in the County. 2. On October 20, 1987, this Board adopted Resolution No. 87-211 imposing certain fees and charges for services provided by the Medical Examiner, including a twenty and 00/100 dollars ($20.00) fee for the preparation and issuance of a Cremation Certificate. 3. On November 10, 1987, this Board adopted Resolution No. 87-242 which amended the fees charged by the Medical Examiner to reduce the Cremation Certificate fee to ten end 00/100 dollars ($10.00). 4. On August 20, 2002, this Board adopted Resolution No. 92-174 which increased the Cremation Certificate fee to twenty and 00/100 dollars ($Z0.00) 4. The Medical Examiner has requested authorization to further increase the Cremation Certificcte fee to thirty and 00/100 dollars ($30.00) in order to cover the increased costs of staff time to prepare and issue the Cremation Certificates and reduce each county's annual contribution to the Medical Examiner's budget. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of 51. Lucia County, Florida: Paragraph 1 of Resolution No. 87-211, os amended, is hereby further amended to read as follows: The District Medical Examiner, in and for the Nineteenth District of the ,State of Florida, is hereby authorized to charge each funeral home a fee of twznt¥' thirty and 00/100 ~ ($30.00) dollars for the preparation and issuance of a Cremation Certifical e required by Section 406.11, Florida Statutes. 2. This resolution s~oll take effect on October 1, 2003. 3. All other provisions of Resolution No. 87-211, as amended, shall remain in full force and effect.
