CALL TO ORDER
Mr. Kurek called the meeting to order at 7:31 a.m.
APPROVAL OF MAY MINUTES
After a motion by Mr. Pancoast and second by Mr. Kearney, the minutes from May 19th
were unanimously approved.
Mr. Lounds asked for support from the members against budget cuts for the 4H program.
PUBLIC SAFETY DEPARTMENTS & CONSTITUTIONAL OFFICERS
Mr. Kurek asked about the Sheriff’s budget. Sheriff Mascara and Mr. Long explained
how the lease for vehicles is processed in governmental accounting and gave history on
the last purchase of vehicles. They added information on the benefits of the lease. The
increase in the budget is because of salary increases. The catch up plan was
explained.

Mr. Kearney, Mr. Gotz, Mr. Lounds, Mr. Donovan, and Mr. Buechler commented or
asked questions about the Sheriff’s budget and effects.
Mr. Kurek summed up options for the Commissioners and thanked the Sheriff for his
time.
Mr. Lounds asked for clarification on the deputies’ wages compared to the local Cities
and gave his opinion of the budget process.
Mr. Buechler started discussion on the additional exemption to property taxes.
Ms. Hill provided the attached presentation. Mr. Gotz asked about the increase in
Public Safety’s budget. Mr. Kurek started discussion on staff.
Mr. Donovan began the discussion on tax revenue options.
Ms. Hill continued her presentation until questions were asked about the Supervisor of
Elections’ budget.
Ms. Francis explained the line for painting in the Clerk’s budget.
The Property Appraiser’s funding was discussed.
Mr. Kurek started the discussion of the Tax Collector issues.
After Ms. Hill’s summary of the revenues and requests, Mr. Donovan started the
conversation about the challenges and plans for the next meeting.
INFORMAL BOCC UPDATE
The June Informal BOCC meeting is scheduled for June 13. Ms. Hill read the items on
the agenda.
OTHER ISSUES
No other issues were mentioned.
ADJOURNMENT
The meeting was adjourned at 8:42 a.m.
