Based on inspection of existing roofing components, roofing materials, and conditions of the completed asphalt shingled roofing(3 %2:12 roof slope),together with review of roofing product data, and evaluation of the roofing replacement with respect to applicable requirements of 2017 (6'H edition) FBC-residential, specifically Chapter 9, Section R905.1 and R905.2, we can stated that the roofing underlayment, roof flashing, drip edge, (3)closed valley/flashing, and asphalt shingles have all been installed in substantial conformance with the applicable 2017 FBC-R codes. The principal roofing products installed are summarized as follows: 1. Roofing Underlayment: PolyGlass; Polystick Stick IR-Xe(60 mil self adhering polymer modified bitumen underlayment complying with ASTM D1970); Florida Product Approval FL#5259.1 2. Valley Sweat Sheet: PolyGlass; Polystick Stick MTS (plus)(60 mil self adhering polymer modified bitumen underlayment complying with ASTM D1970);Florida Product Approval FL# 5259.1 3. Drip Edge: continuous 2 3/4 x 3"Galvaloume metal,24 gauge;nailed @ 4"co. with bitumastic edge coating over underlayment, and 3"min. end splice overlaps. 4. Valley Pan Flashing: 16"wide galv.metal,26 gauge(closed valley). 5. Asphalt Shingles: Owens Conning; "Duration®TruDefinition®, 5 tab"Driftwood"asphalt shingle installed with 5 nails each(typical)and matching hip ridge shingles;manufactured in compliance with ASTM 3462,and meet complying with ASTM D3161 Class F,and ASTM D7158, Class H; Florida Product Approval FL# 10674.1. The asphalt shingle roofing replacement work did not include any work (repair or replacement) on two (2) existing "flat" roof areas (front roof @ Northwest corner of house, and rear roof @ Southwest corner of house) covered with roll roofing. The asphalt shingle roofing is placed with proper transition over the connecting edge of the two flat roll roofing areas. The existing wall to roof flashing located adjacent to the north and south wall, of the Southwest comer flat roof area, is provided with metal "kick-out" edge flashing and exposed metal wall flashing appears in good condition. POLYSTICK@ IR-Xe SELF-ADHERED ICE AND WATER PROTECTION UNDERLAYMENT APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS • Apply Polystick IR-Xe directly to the roof deck. • Do not apply to shingles or other roof coverings. • Apply only when the weather is dry and material interface temperatures (air, roof deck, membrane) are 40°F and rising. • Always start at the lowest point of the roof deck where possible. • Cut the Polystick IR-Xe to a suitable, workable length prior to placement. • Lay the material flat in place, starting at the lowest point. • Overlap seams 3" minimum and endlaps 6' minimum. • Peel half of the backing off the roll and apply firm, even pressure from the center to the outer edges. • Remove the backing from the remaining half of the roll and apply pressure. • Always ensure that Polystick IR-Xe is applied over the area to cover the highest point of"ice damming". • Be sure to follow all local building code recommendations and requirements with regards to the width of ice dam materials. • If full roof coverage application is desired, proper venting of the structure is recommended. Consult a design professional for proper venting requirements. Applications involving nonventilated attics or sheathing with radiant barriers, an anchor sheet is recommended to allow venting and prevent the creation of a double vapor barrier condition. • In steep slope applications (i.e. 2:12 slope or higher) where backnoiling will be required, be sure that all nails are covered by the overlapping next sheet. • Manufacturer recommends applying covering within 90 days unless otherwise limited by the Authority Having Jurisdiction(AHJ). The following wind uplift limitations apply to underlayment systems that are not addressed in FRSA/TRI April 2012 (04-12) and are used in foam-on tile applications. Maximum Design Pressure is the result of testing for wind load resistance based on allowable wind loads, and reflects the ultimate passing pressure divided by 2 (the 2 to 1 margin of safety per FBC 1504.9 has already been applied). Refer to FRSA/TRI April 2012(04- 12),Appendix A,Table 1A or FBC 1609 for determination of design wind loads. #1 Maximum Design Pressure=-90 psf: Deck: Min.15/32-inch plywood to meet project requirements to satisfaction of Authority Having Jurisdiction. Alternatively, the maximum design pressure for the selected assembly shall meet or exceed the Zone 1 design pressure determined in accordance with FBC 1609. In this case, Zones 2 and 3 shall employ an attachment density designed by a qualified design professional to resist the elevated pressure criteria. Commonly used methods are ANSI/SPRI WD1, FM Loss Prevention Data Sheet 1-29 and Roofing Application Standard RAS 117. Assemblies marked with an asterisk* carry the limitations set forth in Section 2.2.10.1 of FM Loss Prevention Data Sheet 1-29 (January 2016)for Zone 2/3 enhancements. 5.7 Exposure Limitations: Elastobase, Elastobase P, Polyglass G2 Base or Polyglass APP Base shall not be left exposed for longer than 30-days after installation.
