Our findings are as follows. Wind Design Criteria:V=170 mph(3 second gust),Exposure C,Risk Category 2. From the Florida Building Code,RAS.128:Padl:42.8 psf,P.d2:71.7 psf,P,0:108.0 psf Using NOA 15-0622.21 CertainTeed Corporation the maximum pressure using E1 is-60 psf. The base sheet is installed 8"on center along the 4" wide side lap and then 3 additional rows staggered, 8"on centered. The tributary area per fastener is 8x11=88 square inches. The field nailing(zone 1)is acceptable since.42.8<60. Next check zone 2: 60/71.7*8"o/c=6.67"spacing. Use a spacing of 6"on center for zone 2. Next check zone 3: 60/108 * 8"o/c=4.44"spacing. Use a spacing of 4"on center for zone 3. There is(1)flat roof area,(Al)36'x 44'. - The end zone distance is 10%L1 OR 10%L2, or 40%Mean roof height,whichever is smaller,but not less than 3 feet— 4.5' or 5.l' or 6.0' thus 4.5' governs. The (Al) will have a 5' wide by 5' long zone 3 at the comers. Zone 2 will be the remaining 5' wide roof perimeter.
