Affairs has granted renewal of Cardinal Industries' approval to con-

throughout the State of Florida.
This renewal is granted pursuant to inspection of your
submitted plans which were found by this Department and your listing
agency to be in compliance with the applicable codes.
` Provisions for resistance to uplift and overturning are
approved so long as the unit is tied down in accordance with the
acroved plans and specifications on an adequate fo
eundation.
A copy of this letter must be attached to the approved plans

Revised Listing Agency Approval
You are hereby notified that pursuant to Rule Number 9B-1.06(3),
the Department of Cor unity Affairs is revising your LISTING AGENCY
approval.
This approval authorizes you to prepare and approve modifications,.
to a manufacturer's typical model which has received prior approval by
the Department of Community Affairs. Those modifications prepared by
the listing agency shall bear the professional's raised seal, date and
signature. However, such modifications shall not change the type
building or its' occupancy classification and must be approved by the
Department before the building can be manufactured. The modification
approved by the listing agency shall bear the designers raised seal,
along with the listing agency's stamp of approval reflecting construc-
tion type, occupancy, allowable number of floors, wind velocity, fire
rating of exterior walls and the P.S.P. floor loading. A copy of each
modification must be identified and forwarded to the Department of
Community Affairs for the issuance of state insignias and/or approval.
A copy of this letter must be attached to the approved plans
when requesting a building permit. The building official, at his
option, may elect to call the Department to verify this approval.

permanent wheel-cholir ramps to individual apartment;' units, the
company p ovides a,portable ramp to any tenant requesting one.
2.1 The Buililding Department in Titusville, Florida hrs
rejected k certificate of occupancy on 25% of the 120-unit
mplex ii that city, pending the decision of this Board: on a
waiver request, The Building Department feels that -permanent
ramps are required by Chapter 553, Part V, F.S.
3. The Handicap Waiver Advisory Committee heard the

2. The compromise agreement developed by the company

capped individuals since accessibility is not limited to a
fixed 5% of the units. The recommended waiver meets the
spirit and intent of the law and the rules of the Board.
3. 'Rule 9B-7.03, F.A.C. provides that waivers are
applicable to specific cases and to specific owners or
indivi uals to whom the waivers are granted. This order
sha,.l apply to those apartment complexes owned or managed
by Car inal Industries, s;o .long as the company complies with
the co ditions upon which the :waiver is granted.
4. The granting of this waiver applies only to the
provision of a portable ramp as opposed to a fixed or permanent
ramp 'a d does not constitute a waiver of any other provisions
