This letter in regards to the following pennitted job for South Florida Aluminum
Products, pennit #07040559.
Project: 70-28
3621 Redtail Hawk Dr.
Port S1. Lucie, FL 34952
After careful review and analysis of these jobs the following changes will be made:
1 ) In lieu of the "U" strap, top and bottom on the sidewall that has a 209 lb. uplift rating; we
will allow the use of the Simpson 2.5 Hurricane Clip, top and bottom with 475lb uplift
rating.
2) 3/8" wedge bolts on 32" centers, also meets the uplift rating.
3) We will allow a single 2"x 4" top plate for walls up to 16' in length.
4) After doing the calculations, we find that using (3) #14 xl" S.M.S. on each side of a 3" x
3" post (6 total) to the "U-Clip" or insert, meets or exceeds the uplift required.
The future engineering sheet for South Florida Aluminum Products will have these details
on them.
