1. Window/Door Buck Fastening details are to meet or exceed the
manufgacturer's test approvals and recommendations.
2. Bucks are designed for wind load compliance only. Design for impact
resutance shall require additional fasteners and/or bucking as specified
by the window/door manufacturer specialty engineer in accordance to the
2017 FBC, 6th Edition.
5. Bucks are to be fastened horizontally and vertically to poured concrete
beams and columns, or concrete filled masonry units, respectively.
6. Bucks are to be 1x6 or 1x8 #2 PT Southern Pine per industry standards
and fully bonded to concrete/masonry w/ SIKA 1A Construction Adhesive.
For multiple buck installation, bucks are to be fully bonded and fastened
to each other.
7. Buck fasteners are to be J"O TAPCON with 1j" minimum embedment into
concrete//masonry with staggered spacing equal or exceeding the
manufacturer's fastening schedule for framing.
