The incorrect Florida Fire Prevention Code (FFPC) is noted on the plans and in the response letters to both Building Department and fire district. The 2007 edition of the FFPC is currently enforced. The.2006 edition of NFPA 101 Life Safety Code and the 2006 edition of NFPA 1, both Florida Modified, are referenced by the FFPC. The code references have been update — see sheet A-2. FFPC 2007, NFPA 101, 2006 edition. 2. The exit access doors for the "Practice Area" are located to close to each other. A minimum distance of 44.33 <feet> apart is required for exit separation. FMC section 601.2.1 condition number 1 allows the space between the corridor ceiling (roof in our case due to no ceiling) and the floor to be used as a return plenum if the corridor is not fire rated. The corridor walls are not fire rated therefore meeting the intent of this section. Also the corridor and adjacent conference rooms do not have ceiling's and the corridor walls are only 12' in height creating an open intercommunicated plenum area. Therefore the corridor cannot be isolated as required in section 601.2. ®: Plumbing, provide occupant group and occupant load so that plans can be reviewed for compliance per 2007 FBC plumbing.
