CONTRACTOR: Master Craft Aluminum Products DESIGN CRITERIA: Applicable Codes, Regulations, and Standards 1. The 6th Edition (2017) Florida Building Code, specifically Chapter 16 Structural Design, Chapter 20 Aluminum, and Chapter 23 Wood. 2. AA ASM 35 and Specifications for Aluminum Structures, Part 1-A of the Aluminum Design Manual prepared by The Aluminum Association, Inc. Washington, D.C., 2010 Edition and the Guide to Aluminum Construction in high wind areas, 2010. 3. ASCE 7-10. Loading Criteria 1. Live Load: N/A 2. Dead Load: N/A 3. Wind Load: 3.1. Building Occupancy Category, Section 1604.5 and Table 1604.5: Risk Category 2. 3.2. Ultimate Design Wind Speed: Vm.r = 160 MPH, Nominal Design Wind Speed: Vxso = 116 MPH. per St Lucie County Building Department 3.3. Exposure Category, Section 1609.43: Exposure B 4. Building Category for Aluminum Structures, Section 2002.6: Category Type 2 - Glass Roam: Non -Habitable, Unconditioned Roof Type 1. Roof Type: N/A 2. Roof Material: N/A Specifications The following specifications are applicable to this project: 1. AD work shall be in accordance with the 6th Edition (2017) Florida Building Code, and any other applicable local codes and regulations. 2. Aluminum extrusions shall be 6005 T5 Alloy. Due to quality control issues, no manufacturer substitution is acceptable without the specific written, signed and sealed authorimfion ofF7orida Aluminum Engineering, Inc. 3. Fasteners are required to be corrosion resistant, minimum SAE Grade 2 or better zinc plated to ASTM B633, or coated stainless steel series "300", or uncoated stainless steel series "400". 4. All Self Mating Beam Sections are to be stitched with either #14 screws 6" from ends and 24" center to center or 912 screws 6" from ends and 12" center to center. 5. Approved concrete screw anchors to be Simpson Titen-III) or equivalent 6. Door location shall be determined by contractor in the field. 7. Where concrete specifications are required, whether in the screen enclosure scope or not, by one or more regulatory agency, the following specifications are applicable: a. Concrete shall conform to ASTM C94 for the following components: i. Portland Cement Type 1,- ASTMC 150 if. Aggregates - large Aggregate 3/4" max - ASTM C 33 iii. As, entraining +/.1%-ASTM C 260 iv. Water reducing agent- ASTM C 494 v. Clean Potable water vi. Other admixtures not permitted b. Metal accessories shall conform in: i. Reinforcing Barn - ASTM A615, grade 60 if. Welded wire fabric - ASTM Al85 c. Concrete slump at discharge chute not less than 3" or mom than 5". Water added after batching is not pemdtted. d. Prepare and place concrete per American Concrete Institute Manual of Standard Practice, Parts 1, 2, and 3 including hot weather recormrmendartons. e. Moist cure or polyethylene curing permitted. f Prior to placing concrete, treat the entire subsurface area for temt[es in compliance with the FBC. g. Concrete shall be placed over a polyethylene vapor barrier. It. All aluminum components embedded within concrete shag be coated with a bituminous paint or epoxy. S. Ali lumber and plywood shall have grade marks and treatment identification and Shall conform to the following: a. Framing lumber shall be minimum no. 2 southern yellow pine and have a maximum moisture content of 150A. b. Pressure vestments shall be osmosalts, carouse k.33, womaosalts or "form, as recommended for the use condition. Pressure treated lumber shall be impregnated with a cca salt treatment in accordance with Es. tt-w-571 and bear the American Wood Preservatives hutimte quality mark 1p-2. c. Wall Sheathing: APA rated Sheathing, thickness as indicated, Exposure 1. d. Aluminum members that are uncoated shall be separated from PT lumber by 30# felt paper, 10 mil polyethylene sheet or equivalent material. 9. Contractor shall provide Florida Product Approval information as to the exact window being utilized for this project, including manufacturers specifications, andinstallation methods for anchoring the submitted windows to Aluminum members and specific sins as indicated on A-1. 10. Contractor shall provide any additional backing (aluminum, wood etc..) and anchors as required by the window manufacturers recommended procedures. 11. AB glass panels within 24' of a door opening shall be of tempered glass per FBC-R308.4 12. All flashing and weatherproofing shall be provided by the contractor. 13.
