LIFE SAYER POOL FENCE SYSTEM SPECIFI , Permitting
General Description:
Pool fence designed specifically to provide a barrier around residential swimming pools
for toddlers and young children. Life Saver Pool Fence Systems ® does not have any
gaps, openings, indentations, protrusions, or structural components that could allow a
child to crawl under, squeeze through, or climb over the barrier. Our Perma Locking
System** will not allow the barrier to be removed without the aid of tools.
Life Saver Pool fence is manufactured and installed in compliance with the Florida
Statutes. Florida Building Code R 4501.17.1, FBC/R 4502.17.1 , and ASTM D5034,
ASTM D3787, ASTM G 53
System:
Tension based system utilizing a series of 15 foot sections of fence with inserts for
mounting in non -conducting polypropylene sleeves core drilled 4 inches deep into a
concrete deck or other substantial surface, connected in series at the top with a
spring loaded safety latch. One end of barrier requires tool to remove it. Non
removal end secured to fence post and pool deck by a 1" L Brace for 360
applications. Non removal end secured by spring Perma Lock** with nut/bolt in
screen enclosure applications.
Construction:
Mesh: Polyester mesh fabric with a mildew resistant polyvinyl coating to provide for
years of use in direct sunlight. Continuous basket weave with a tensile strength
rating of 270 lbs. per inch making it impossible to rip under normal use.
Color selection is black, white, green or brown. Available in 48 or 60 in.heights.
Bordered on all four sides by a reinforced vinyl material with a rating of 387
lbs. to prevent sagging providing the necessary tension to insure the fence's
integrity. Marine Grade Stitching secures border to mesh. The mesh is pre -
mounted on aluminum support poles and secured by aluminum cove molding
strips.
Poles: Reinforced 6063T6 I" Aluminum Poles are spaced no more than 36" apart.
Temper rating of T6 scores the highest tensile strength (30ksi) within the 6063
alloy classification. Pole resistance to lateral pressure exceeds 70 lbs. of
pressure before failure on any single pole in a free standing installation, thus
exceeding the 52 lbs. of horizontal force prescribed by the Florida Building
Code. Stainless steel roundhead screws (14) are utilized for securely attaching
the aluminum cove molding to the poles and mesh. Surface of the poles are
finished for handling and to prevent injuries from physical contact. Color
options: black, white, green, tan, brown, bronze or silver finish.
The poles are capped to provide a neat finished appearance.

Textilene Mesh
Textilene mesh has been used as the highest quality material to the pool fence industry
for over 15 years. Laboratory testing shows its strengths to surpass all code specifications

Installation Instructions for PAL TRIED using Standard 1 1/2" Pool Wall Fitting in Pools/Spas
Step 1. Locale the appropriate position/s fin mounting the PAL TREO light/s to give the best coverage for the size,
shape and interior color of the pod. The center of the light mould be positioned 12" below the water level or
Ili- belovr the top of the pool deck ladmading 6-freehand to provide the best illumination of the pod water.
Step 2. Fit a standard 1 1/2' Pod WaII Fitting into the pod will at the effected location. Watertight PVC conduit must
be used from toe wall fitting to the some water/ground level conduit termination on the transformer side of
the 12V AC line. Please refer to the illustration below.
Step 3. Fit the PAL TREO biting into th1 112" WAY Fitting as sham. NoteThe front cover gasket can be replaced by
a bead Of silicon suitable for pool use.

Step 1. Unscrew the Cover Lens Lacking 6crnv (shown in figure 2) until the lens corer can be twisted in an
anydodwise direction to relrad the lamp filling from the hou$ng (shove in figure 1).
Step 2. Remove the clinan lens cwar volt the aid of a scrertlriver as shown 1n figure 3.
Step 3. Unscrew the (6) su lens satyrs to unclip the lamp from the lamp socket as shown on the Assembly drawing.
Step 4. Replace the LAIL2 Lamp. NOW: To ensure reliable operation of your PAL TRIED it is essential to use only,
the genuine LAM Lamp 6 Seal Replacement kit part no. FPALIAU.
When the LAIF2 Lamp is replaced it is essential to maintain the water tight seal that the "0'ring be also
replaced. the'Y/'ring seal Is supplied add the Lamp/Seal replacement Not. (FPFL4.AU)
Stop 5. When reassembling the PAL TPEO fining ensure the 0" ring is sitting cori and replace the (6) lens screws
and ensure the screws are not overtightened. Fit the lens cover.
Step 6. Feed the Wire bad into the Won.

Read and keep these instructions for future reference. Always plumb and install all suction fittings according to all building codes that apply in your area.
WARNING: When using two or more suction fittings on a common suction line, suctions must be separated by a minimum of 3 fit or they must be located on two
different planes (i.e. one on floor and one on the wall).
WARNING: DO NOT locate suction outlets on seating areas or on backrests for such seating areas.
The maximum flow rating for this suction fitting is 175 GPM. This suction fitting is designed for installation on side wall or Boor of portable spas, hot tubs, or pools in
conjunction with at least one other suction fitting per pump. DO NOT adapt suction fitting to any pipe size smaller than ASTM 2" SCH 40 PVC. Suction fitting and
fasteners should be observed for damage or tampering before each use. Missing, broken, or cracked suction fittings shall be replaced before use. Loose suction fittings
shall be reattached or replaced before use. Mount suction fittings on the walls, in the foot wells of portable spas, hot tubs, or pools. Do not mount directly under seats.
Follow all winterizing instructions and recommendations of your pool and spa professional. Open area of the suction cover is 12,88 in1

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
1. Using hole saw, cut/drill the installation hole.
2. If optional gasket is used, gasket must be placed
around threads of suction wall fitting at this time.
3. Place threads of wall fitting through hole from the
inside (water side) of tub/pool.
4. Install nut from dry side of tub onto the threads of
the wall fitting.
5. Using torque wrench, torque nut to <44.0 ft. lbs.
(60Nm)
6. Verify that the suction cover is properly tightened
and secured with stainless steel screw.

NOTE: In the event that one suction outlet is completely blocked, the remaining suction outlet(s) serving that system MUST have a flow rating capable of the full flow of
the pump(s) for the specific suction system.
NOTE: Increasing size of the pump may increase flow rate of suction beyond rated safety limits causing entrapment or death.
CAUTION: Hair or body parts blocking the spa or pool suctions may become trapped and held against the suction fitting. Entrapment
against the suction fittings can result in drowning or other severe injury. Never sit on or lean up against suction fittings. Never exceed the
maximum allowable flow rate stated on the suction fitting. The suction fitting and fasteners should be inspected for damage or tampering
before each use of the facility. Missing, broken, or cracked suction fittings shall be replaced before using this facility. Loose suction fittings
shall be reattached or replaced before use of this facility.
WARNING: To reduce the risk of drowning from hair and body entrapment, install suction fittings with a marked flow rate in gallons
per minute that exceeds the flow rate of your system by at least 25%. Always use multiple suction outlets. If the fitting/cover breaks, is
damaged, or is missing, shut the system down immediately. Do not use the system until damaged parts have been replaced.
WARNING: Keep hair and clothing a minimum of 12 inches from all suction fittings and drains at all times. Persons with long hair should
secure hair to a minimal length or wear swimming cap. Children should never be left unattended at any time in a swimming pool, spa, or
bathtub. Be sure the temperature of the water never exceeds the manufacturer's recommendations

CLEANING CARTRIDGE
Tlie cartridge filter element can be cleaned by pressure washing inside and out with a garden hose. (The cartridge is easier to clean
when dry.) After hosing the cartridge, for best results, allow cartridge to dry and carefully brush pleated surface areas to remove fine
particles. Do not pressure wash, as it can damage the filter element.
Algae, suntan oil and body oils can form a coating on the cartridge pleats which may not be thoroughly removed by hosing. To remove
such materials, soak the cartridge in a solution of filter element cleaner (various brands available at pool dealer). Follow
manufacturer's directions for use and allow an hour for soaking. Hose thoroughly before reinstalling in filter.
A spare cartridge filter element is an excellent investment. It provides convenience and ensures that your filter will always be ready
to operate,at peak efficiency.
1. Hayward cartridges are specially designed and engineered for use in Star -Clear Plus filters. For best results, use only genuine
Hayward Star -Clear cartridges in your filter. Order Model No. CX760RE, CX900RE, CX1200RE, CX1520RE, CX1750RE, or
CX202ORE from your dealer. The Hayward name is your guarantee of quality.
VACUUMING
Vacuuming can beperPormed directly into the filter whenever needed. Clean cartridge after vacuuming, if required.
WINTERIZING (Filter)
In areas where sub -freezing temperatures can be expected, the filter should be drained and/or removed from its, operating location and
stored indoors. Remove and clean cartridge. Reinstall cartridge in filter tank. Tighten locking knob only a few turns when storing.
SERVICE AND REPAIRS
Consult your local authorized Hayward dealer or service center. No returns may be made directly to the factory without the expressed
written authorization of Hayward Pool Products.
