HomeMy WebLinkAboutVinyl Railing WarrantyTransferable Limited Lifetime Warranty Who is covered: • The limited lifetime warranty covers single-family residential properties only. This limited warranty extends to the original purchaser and one (1) individual transferee as specified herein. • A twenty (20) year limited warranty covers any other type of building or property including those owned by corporations, governmental agencies, partnerships. trusts, religious organizations, schools, condominiums, homeowner associations, cooperative housing arrangements and apartment buildings. The warranty, period will be twenty (20) years following the original date of Product purchase. What is covered: Barrette Outdoor Living warrants that its vinyl railing products ('Product') will be free from defects in material and workmanship for the warranty period. This limited warranty is valid beginning on the date of Product purchase. Barrette Outdoor Living warrants the Product against peeling, flaking, rotting, chipping, cracking, rusting, blistering, or abnormal discoloration/fading' under normal atmosphere and weather conditions; structural damage due to weather influences, fungal decay or wood boring insects. 'After prolonged exposure to outdoor environments, all products will experience some gradual fading over time and is considered normal (up to a standard variation determined by Delta E color measurement, not to exceed Delta 5). Degrees of fading vary depending on geographical location, air pollution, exposure and other factors. What this warranty does not cover. This limited warranty does not cover damage resulting from: a change in color due to a build-up of surface mold and mildew, misuse, abuse, improper storage or handling, improper installation, other vinylproducts and accessories that are not manufactured by Barrette Outdoor Living, or manufactured for specific use in vinyl railing applications; impact of foreign objects, fire, earthquake, flood, lightning, hail, hurricane, tornado, high winds or other casualty or act of God; movements, distortion, collapse or setting of ground or structure on which the railing is installed; pollutants and chemicals including salt water, pool and Ice removal chemicals and staining from foreign substances. This limited warranty does not cover costs of removal or disposal of product, or reinstallation of replacement product. What Barrette Outdoor Living does to remedy the problem: Should your Barrette Outdoor Living product prove defective under warranty, visit the website or call the phone number listed below. Barrette Outdoor Living requires written notice or phone call within thirty (30) days of discovering the defect and you must show original proof of purchase receipt. You will be required to provide to Barrette Outdoor Living pictures and/or samples of the defective Product If it is determined by Barrette Outdoor Living, in its sole discretion, the Product has a manufacturer defect in material or workmanship, Barrette Outdoor Living will replace with new or equivalent products; labor is not included in warranty. If the Product is discontinued, Barrette Outdoor Living will repair or replace the Product with a product in comparable quality or price range. Barrette Outdoor Living reserves the right to discontinue or modify any of its products, including the color of its products without notice to the purchaser. Barrette Outdoor Living does not warrant that any replacement material will match or be identical to the original Product as replacement products may vary in color or gloss In comparison to the original Product as a result of normal weathering. Transferee Coverage: Limited lifetime warranty coverage will be extended to one (1) transferee with the following limitations: the one (1) transfer shall only be from residential homeowner (original Product purchaser) to a second homeowner. After a transfer, the warranty is valid twenty (20) years from the date of the original purchase. The twenty (20) year limited warranty for commercial installations cannot be transferred. Registration: To activate this warranty, fill out the product registration form on the website listed below, or mail a completed registration card to Barrette Outdoor Living. Registration of Product must be within thirty (30) days from date of Product purchase for warranty to be valid. Except as expressly set forth in this warranty, Barrette Outdoor Living HEREBY EXPRESSLY DISCLAIMS ANY REPRESENTATION, WARRANTY, PROMISE, GUARANTEE OR OTHER ASSURANCE OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, ORAL OR WRITTEN, STATUTORY OR OTHERWISE, RELATING TO THE PRODUCT. STATE LAW WILL DETERMINE THE PERIOD OF TIME FOLLOWING THE SALE THAT YOU MAY SEEK A REMEDY UNDER THE IMPLIED WARRANTY OF MERCHANTABILITY OR FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE. NO DISTRIBUTOR, DEALER OR OTHER PERSON IS AUTHORIZED BY BARRETTE OUTDOOR LIVING TO CHANGE THIS WARRANTY OR TO MAKE ANY ADDITIONAL REPRESENTATION, WARRANTY, PROMISE, GUARANTEE OR OTHER ASSURANCE ON BEHALF OF BARRETTE OUTDOOR LIVING RELATINGTO THE PRODUCT. Closely follow post installation instructions (or sleeve existing wood 4x4). OAssembling rail section: Lock tabs on balusters/spindles must face outer edge of routed holes in rails. Assemble your rail section by snapping balusters/spindles in rails (Fig.1). ©a. One support brace is included with 6' railing kits. b. Two support braces are included with 8' railing kits. Install support braces evenly across span of railing section (Fig. 2). ©Cut two 3" temporary wood spacer blocks (not included) to insert under ends of railing sections to temporarily assist in aligning railing section (Fig. 3). U Slide two top and bottom rail brackets on ends of completely built rail sections (Fig. 4 & 5). Slide rail section in-between posts and on top of temporary wood spacer blocks (position wood spacer blocks next to installed vinyl posts) (Fig. 6). Locking Tab O ©For Bottom Brackets: Using a 5kz° drill bit, pre -drill first bottom bracket screw hole. On angle, drill through bracket hole, vinyl post jacket, vinyl insert and steel post (Fig. 7). ODrive first of the shorter screws (1 %) through bottom bracket to post. ORepeat Steps 5 & 6 for the remaining three screws for the first bottom bracket. Repeat Steps 5-7 for the second bottom bracket (Fig. 8). NOTE. For the following steps, look down inside the top of post to make sure screws penetrate steel post if using a steel post install kit (Fig. 9). For Top Brackets: Install the two side screws first. Using a 51V drill bit pre- drill first hole on angle through first top rail bracket, vinyl post jacket and into wood or steel post (make sure to have drill at full speed when starting into the steel post) and loosely install the first 2Yz° screw (Fig. 10). Repeat pre -drilling process for second screw (again, remember to have drill at full speed when starting into the steel post) and tightly install second screw. Tighten first screw. Repeat Steps 8-10 for the second top 1 bracket. Install final 1'/4" screws through bottom of top rail brackets into top rail. Post Plastic Spacer 0 VINYL STAIR RAILING OPlace assembled stair rail section adjacent to the mounted stair posts (Fig. 1). Measure the distance from the first and last baluster to the top and bottom posts making sure distance is equal on both sides of stair rail section (Fig. 2). Clamp into place (Fig. 3). NOTE: Some installations may require longer stair posts. Equal Spacing ©Trace the post onto each rail (both ends of top and bottom rails). Make four marks in total (Fig. 4). O ®Remove clamped stair kit from posts. Cut along all four angled marks on rails (Fig. 5). OSlide the stair brackets onto the rails (Fig. 6), and place rail section between your posts (Fig. 7). Mark all bracket holes (Fig. 8). Pre -drill all bracket holes with A" drill bit (Fig. 9). ODrive screws through brackets into post (Fig. 10). For top rail, use #10 x 2" self -tapping screws (two per bracket); for bottom rail, use #10 x 1'/4" self -tapping screws (four per bracket). Pre -drill one side (outside of the stair rail installation) of the top stair rail bracket with MY drill bit. Hole should be oriented as shown, approximately %n in from the end of the bracket (Fig. 11). Drive #10 x 1" pan head screw through bracket and rail. Do NOT overtighten. 101 ANGLE BRACKETS OAfter posts have been installed, determine angle of railing (Fig. 1). ©Pre -drill %" diameter holes in base of top bracket only. Then, fasten bracket to base at the determined angle with two #10 x 1" screws (Fig. 2). ©Cut railing to desired length. Place bracket on each end of top and bottom rails (Fig. 3). Fasten bottom bracket to base with one #10 x 1 " screw. Oa. Position the rail section between the posts (Fig. 4). i b. Mark four screw hole locations on each bracket.
