Dear Ms. Olson:

I'm writing to request a waiver for floor elevation permit (1912-0489). Per the surveyor the existing
house and proposed elevation of the addition is at 0.74' (9") above the center line of the road. Since the
floor elevation does not meet the minimum floor elevation of the 18" we are requesting a waiver.
The proposed elevation is (6.16') and the elevation of the crown of the road (5.42').
Please contact myself or my husband, Kevin Stevens (cell-410-253-1883) if you have additional
questions. We are looking forward to completing this project as soon as possible. Thank you very much.
Best Regards,
Jennifer Stevens

RE: Finished floor waiver
Dear Mrs. Stevens:
Please accept this letter in response to your written request received March 12, 2020.to waive
the finished floor elevation. of 18" above the crown of the road. The waiver request is for a
proposed carport enclosure to create a habitable space for an existing single family residence
located at 2410 Tamarind Dr. Ft Pierce.
Pursuant to Section 7.04.01(C-3) of the St Lucie County Land Development Code, the Planning
and DevelopmentServices Director has the authority to grant administrative relief, when
topographical conditions are such that compliance' with this subsection would be impracticable
or cause grade level conditions detrimental to adjacent or nearby property,. consistent with the
intent of the Flood Protection regulations and any other applicable portion of this Code.
The Planning. and Development Services Director has granted your request for administrative
relief of the finished floor elevation based on the following determinations:
1. The existing single family residence is located in Flood Zone X.
2. The existing floor elevation of the single family residence is 6,16' NAVD.
3. The proposed floor elevation of the addition will be equal with the floor of the existing
house at 6.16' NAVD which is 0.74' above the center line of the adjacent road.
4. The elevation of the center line of adjacent road is 5.42' NAVD
5. To raise the floor 18" above the center line of the adjacent road would be impracticable as
the proposed finished floor elevation will be level with the existing single family residence.
This approval does not in any way constitute authorization to begin construction. Prior to the
commencement of any construction on this property, an application for specific building permit
must be obtained from this Department.
Please feel free to contact me at (772) 462-2822 if you have any questions.
