As -built drawings are not available. Multiple field inspections were made to determine the structural integrity of the exterior envelop of this existing garage. Some minor vertical and horizontal cracks were found on the exterior walls. The horizontal cracks might be due to differential settlement of the bed soil and vertical cracks might be due to setting concrete or heavy rains. Majority of the cracks are vertical cracks. The vertical dead loads for this structure is the combination of the wall load and the roof load which is transferred to the ground via wall sections. Roof sits on all four wall segments and spread loads along the entire lengths of those walls. Roof load and wall load are transferred to the ground not as point load but spread load. Therefore, the possibility of stress concentration is very less. Roof connections to walls look functional and vertical load from the roof is transferred to the wall smoothly. Existing cracks were filled with mortar. This abandoned garage is proposed to be used for storage only. This is not an extension to the living area or it can't be used as bed room. \`\\\\\\I II II II I ////// r?'
