ON OUR STONE CANYON CABINS PRODUCTS WE ARE ASKED TO PROVIDE DELIVERY. WE
CONTRACT THE DELIVERY TO QUALITY, BONDED, AN INSURED CARRIERS. WITH THE SIZE AND
HIGH COST OF THEIR EQUIPMENT, THEY CANT OPERATE ON UNPAVED, NARROW, OR STEEP
ROADS NOR CAN THEY MANEUVER IN TIGHT PLACES. IT IS THE OWNERS RESPONSIBILITY TO
"SPOT" THE CABIN IN THIS TYPE LOCATION.
WE CERTIFY OUR PRODUCT TO BE MANUFACTURED TO THE ANSI-119.5 RECREATIONAL
VEHICLE CODE, AND OUR PRODUCTION FACILITY IS INSPECTED SEVERAL TIMES ANNUALLY BY
THIRD PARTY ENGINEERS IN SIX GROUPS TO ASSURE THIS TO OUR CUSTOMERS AND TO THE
RECREATIONAL PARK TRAILER INDUSTRY ASSOCIATION. WE CANNOT CHANGE PRODUCT
SPECIFICATIONS OR CONSTRUCTION TECHNIQUES TO LOCAL INSPECTION AGENCIES THAT ARE
UNAWARE OF OUR CODES.

Thank you for purchasing a STONE CANYON CABIN. This installation manual contains instructions
that must be followed for the proper Installation of your cabin. We strongly recommend that
you review your entire manual.
WARNING:
INSTALLATION OF YOUR CABIN SHOULD BE PREFORMED BY
PROFESSIONAL CONTRACTORS WHO HAVE BEEN TRAINED IN SETUP
AND INSTALLATION SKILLS. LAYPERSONS UNFAMILIAR WITH THESE
SKILLS WHO ATTEMPT INSTALLATION COULD CAUSE PERSONAL
INJURY TO THEMSELVES AND OTHERS, AND/OR DAMAGE TO THE
CABIN. FAILURE TO FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS IN THIS MANUAL
MAY AFFECT YOUR WARRANTY COVERAGE.
STONE CANYON CABINS manufactures and warrants this cabin to be In compliance with
the ANSI-119S. To maintain an effective warranty, the cabin must be Installed in accordance
with the instructions in this manual. When properly installed and prepared for the weather
conditions likely to prevail at the site, the cabin Is capable of providing satisfactory and
comfortable service as a seasonal retreat in the specific structural, wind, and climate conditions
more rigorous than those for which it Is designed. Warranty is void for damage caused to the
cabin through failure to prepare it adequately for extreme temperatures or other climate
conditions that may be encountered.
The following are dentition$ of some of the terms you will see though out this manual.
SUPPORT SYSTEM- A combination of footings, piers, caps, and wedges placed beneath the
cabin to provide support.
FOOTING PADS- Part of the support system located at or below ground level. Piers are
placed on footing pads, which are made from concrete or treated lumber.
PIERS- Part of the support system installed on footing pads under the main beams or perimeter
of the cabin. Piers are completed with cap blocks and wood wedges. Piers are made from
concrete blocks, steel or concrete stands.
BOTTOM BOARD- Fastened to the underside of the cabin is a special covering designed to
protect against the entry of rodents and moisture as well as to isolate the floor cavity from
outside air. This covering was Inspected before the cabin left the manufacturing facility. It Is
Important that any areas damaged or tom during transportation or installation be resealed.
ANCHORING SYSTEM -A combination of ground anchors and tie -down straps designed to
resist wind forces.
ANCHORS- Part of the anchoring system installed in the ground around the perimeter of the
cabin.
TIE DOWN STRAP- Part of the anchoring system consisting of steel straps wrapped around
the main beams and connected to anchors.

WARNING:
THIS MANUAL GIVES INSTRUCTIONS FOR THE SAFE INSTALLATION OF A STONE CANYON CABIN.
UNIQUE CONDITIONS AT A SPECIFIC INSTALLATION SITE CAN CAUSE SPECIAL PROBLEMS AND
REQUIRE PARTICULAR SAFTY PRECAUTIONS. THE INDIVIDUAL SUPERVISING THE INSTALLATION
MUST BE EXPERIENCED IN HOME INSTALLATION PROCEDURES. IN ORDER TO EVALUATE THE
SAM IMPLIFICATIONS OF SUCH MATTERS AS: SOIL, SLOPE, MOISTURE CONDITIONS,
INSTALLATION EQUIPMENT, SIZE AND WEIGHT OF THE CABIN, ETC. IT IS ESSENTIAL TO
PERFORM THIS INSTALLATION CORRECTLY AND TO MAINTAIN SAFE WORKING CONDITIONS.
WARNING:
THE CABIN WEIGHS SEVERAL TONSI ADEQUATE SUPPORT, BLOCKING MUST BE
USED TO SAFEGUARD PERSONNEL AND THE STRUCTURE DURING ALL
INSTALLATION PROCEDURES.
PERSONNEL SHOULD NOT BE PERMPITED TO WORK UNDER
THE CABIN WHERE INJURY MIGHT RESULT SHOULD THE
CABIN ACCIDENTALLY SLIP DURING THE INSTALLATION
PROCESS .
Before beginnirtg to install the cabin, check with local regulatory agencies
for codes or regulations which may affect procedures in this manual. The
testing of various utility systems and the connection of these systems to the
onsite services must be accomplished by qualified service personneL The
laws of some jurisdictions may require that the service personnel possess a
license.
This manual depicts the most widely used method of supporting recreational
vdticles. Other methods which provide equal support at the same locations
may be acceptable provided they do not stress the structure or cause
distortion to the structure during installation. Also, other products and/or
material equal to or better than those indicated may be used.
The cabin is designed to be supported by individual piers and anchored with
Tie down straps. These are collectively refened to as the support and
amchoring systems.
MAINTENANCE SUGGESTIONS
1. The exterior of the cabin is Premium Cypress siding. As the cypress dries it will tad
to lose it's oontresting color. At that point the wood should be sealed with a quality
transparent sealer for cypress that contains UV inhibitors. This needs to be done about
every two years or when the cypress begins to lose its contrast agaim
2. When tiro cabin is manu&ctrired it is sealed around windows. doom inspection
panels, end of boards, etc. with GE silicone to prevent leakage. As the unit may be
trmgvrted may miles to the delivery site, some of the caulking might become void. It is
the owner's responsibility to re caulk as necessary as making is M a wary item.
3. The roofing material is "Master Rib" a product of Oakland Metal. It is a 29 gauge
galvanized material with baked on enamel paint. The metal has a 20-year wrarranty. It is
easily cleaned with soap and water.
4. Interior Walla -'Me interior finish of the cabin walls are 1/4" natttral wood paneling
and vinyl -covered sheet rock. Both can cleaned in most cases with warm soapy wooer. For
stubborn stains, a non-abrasive, non -caustic cleaner like "Dope can be used.
S,BgthtdU, lavatories, kitchen sinks, counter tops and appliances: The above should be
cleaned in the same manner as interior walls.
6. The plumbing system (both potable and drain) is tested at the factory. The potable
water is tested to 100psi for 15 minutes When the trait is set up, a pressure regulator for
40 psi should be installed at the water inlet During t:snaportation it is possible for some
fittings to vibrate loose. Check these prior to using the system.

STREAMS AND RIVERS. IT IS NECESSARY THE CABIN SITE BE PROPERLY GRADED AND
SUED TO PREVENT WATER AND MOISTURE FROM COLLECTING UNDER THE CABIN. IF
THE CABIN IS SET IN A PIT, IT IS ALSO NECESSARY TO PROVIDE WATER DRAINAGE
AWAY FROM THE UNDERSIDE OF THE CABIN. CONTROLLING THE WATER AND MOISTURE
UNDER THE CABIN WILL IMPROVE THE STABILITY OF THE FOOTINGS AND PIERS THAT
SUPPORT THE CABIN.
CAUTION
EXCESSIVE WATER IN THE SOIL UNDER THE CABIN WILL CAUSE UNNECESSARY
DETERIDRATIPN TO THE CABIN AND EFFECT THE COMFORT LEVEL IN THE CABIN.

AND AFFECT' THE CABIN'S WARRANTY.

FOUNDATION FOOTING PADS AND PIERS
FOOTING PADS:
Footings ate required under each pier to distribute the cabin load to the
ground. The size of the footing is determined by the allowable soil bearing
pressure and load each pier has to carry. The details in this section provide
the available configurations for concrete block and metal piers.
Footing sizes and material other than those shown in this manual may be
used as long as the area of the footing is appropriate for the pier load and
allowable soil bearing value at the site.
Check with local building authorities for requirements for installation of the
cabin due to ground conditions. Footing pads may be placed at grade level.
In areas where the ground is subject to freezing, the footing pads must
extend below the fiost line established by local jurisdiction.
PIERS:
Tice piers used must be strong enough to transmit the vertical load, which
includes the weight of the cabin, it's furnishings, and temporary roof
loading, to the foundation service below.
Pier spacing other than those shown in the manual, may also be used as long
as spacing does not exceed the maximum pier spacing shown.
Pier designs and heights shown in this manual can be used on flat or sloping
ground.

BOTTOMBOARD REPAIR
Fastened to the underside of the floor of the cabin is a special covering
designed to protect against rodents and moisture as well as to insulate the
floor cavity from outside air. This covering was inspected before it left the
manufacturing facility. It is important that any areas damaged or torn during
transportation or installation be resealed.
Entry of outside air into the cabin's floor cavity is one ofthe most frequent
causes of water piping freeze-up. The bottom covering of the cabin should
be closely inspected to determine that there has not been any loosening of
its attachments or tears. Openings around the perimeter of the floor
covering, around pipes or pipe hangers, splits or tears should be sealed with
tape. Check also to ensure that plumbing p-traps are well insulated and
covered. It is important that this inspection be made and any necessary
repairs completed whether skirting is to be installed around the perimeter of
the cabin or not.
For bottom covering repair use vinyl tape especially designed to repair tears
or holes. Pull tom edges together then cover, as necessary, with tape or
apply a patch of the same material taped all four sides.

After the cabin installation is complete, check the following to
assure areas or items have not been overlooked.
1. BOTTOMBOARD
Inspect for any torn areas, especially around bottom board
pendrations.
Patch tom areas with vinyl tape.
2. FOOTING AND PIERS
Check that footing pads are of the correct size and piers are located
at proper spacing. Check that blocks and wedges are ti13hL
3. ANCHORS AND STRAPS
Check anchor spacing and make sure all tie downs straps are
tensioned.

Check to see that all roof flue penetration flashings are properlY
installed and sealed

The warranty says first that we as manufacturer must provide you as purchaser with
a cabin that is structurally sound. The roof, sidewalls, partitions, floors, steel frame,

r.,,Model cabin should be weather tight and adequately insulated.
Second, the warranty says that all utility systems must be in good working order.
You should have safe electrical service at all fixtures and receptacles. You should
have adequate hot or cold water at all outlets with no leaks. All plumbing fixtures
should be in good working order. The drainage system should dispose of waste water
without backing up or leaking.
Before your cabin left the factory, it was fully tested and inspected, and met all
provisions of the warranty. If for any reason your cabin does not meet these
provisions when the dealer makes his/her final inspection and transfers possession
to you, it is our joint responsibility to have you cabin in warranted condition.

If a problem occurs that you think is covered by our warranty, first contact your
dealer. No warranty service can be performed unless you go through your dealer. Its
best to send the dealer a letter so that you have a record of your claim, even if YOU
telephone dealer first to save time.
In your letter give your dealer all the information listed on your warranty that
identifies your specific cabin, its serial number, the model, and the date You bought
it. Also tell your dealer as exactly as you can what the problem is. State, for
�Vrample, that "during a hard rain, water drips from the top of the kitchen window
, :onto the sill'. Avoid vague statements, such as 'a window leak". The more
accurately you tell your dealer what happens, the more likely he/she can diagnose
A -the trouble and correct it on one service call.
M you cannot contact your dealer, if dealer fails to correct the problem, or if dealer
says the problem isn't covered under our warranty, write us at our factory. You'll
find the address on the cover of your panel box. Give us a complete description of
the problem, and tell us what steps you have taken with your dealer to get it
corrected. You must write within the time limits stated in the warranty for fling
claims.
As soon as possible after receiving your letter, the factory service manager will advise
you what corrective work is authorized, who will do the work, and about when it will
