RE: Finished floor waiver
Dear Mr. Greene:
Please accept this letter in response to your written request received January 12, 2017 to waive
the finished floor elevation of 18" above the crown of the road. The waiver request is for a
proposed concrete utility building at 121 N. Jenkins Rd, Ft Pierce.
Pursuant to Section 7.04.01(C-4) of the St Lucie County Land Development Code, the
Planning and Development Services Director has the authority to grant administrative relief,
when.topographical conditions are such that compliance with this subsection would be
impracticable or cause grade level' conditions detrimental to adjacent or nearby property,
consistent with the intent of the Flood Protection regulations and any other applicable portion
of this Code.
The Planning and Development Services Director has granted your request for administrative
relief of the finished floor elevation based on the following determinations:
1 The property is located in a Flood Zone X.
2 The proposed utility building will be 18.84' NAVD which will be at the same elevation
as the concrete slab for the Refueling station.
3 The center line of the adjacent road is 19.61'NAVD.
4 The manufacturers' recommended installation procedure for the concrete utility building
is to be located in line with the Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) Compressors in order to
provide electrical power to the equipment. Increasing the height of the utility building
would impede the effective routing of electrical power.
This approval does not in any way constitute authorization to begin construction. Prior to the
commencement of any construction on this property, an application for specific building permit
must be obtained from this department.
Please feel free to contact me at (772) 462-2822 if you have any questions.

Dear Leslie Olson,
This letter is a request for Relief of Code, to elevate the Concrete Utility Building,
18 Inches above the center line of the mad, with an elevation of 18.84'. As per the
engineering plans, that have been submitted, there is a Concrete Utility Building thatwlll
be Installed as part of our Compressed Natural Gas Refueling Station projecL The
current plans show the Concrete Utility Bulking at the same elevation as the
Compressed Natural Gas Refueling Station Compressors and Storage Tanks concrete
slab. The manufacturers' recommended installation procedure for the Concrete Utility
Building is to be located in line with the CNG Compressors, in order to effectively
provide electrical power to the equipment Our conram Is that if the Concrete Utility
Building were to be raised, the proposed 18 inches, It would impede the effective routing
of electrical power to the CNG Compressors and may also effect the engineering
specifications of the Concrete Utility Building that have been cerl8ied by the
manufacturer.
Your assistance in this matter is greatly appreciated.
