Products must meet additional impact requirements to be equivalent to ASTM El 996-06. The revision from ASTM E1996-05 to ASTM E1996-05b and subsequent versions introduces the additional Wind Zone 4 impact requirement that differs from previous versions: "5.3.3.6 In Wind Zone 4, impact the integral mullion and other intermediate members such as a meeting rail, check rail, or meeting stile mid-span...". In virtually all methods, criteria and other aspects, the testing requirements of ASTM E1996-05 are equivalent to the comparable elements of the ASTM E1996-06 or ASTM E1996-02 requirements and methods.
