INTRODUCTION This bulletin provides instructions for installing a circuit breaker retaining bracket and interlock bracket onto a QO'9 (Series G or S) or Homeline® (Series S) load center, rated 100-125 A, using QOM1 main circuit breakers. The retaining bracket is used to secure a back -fed standby circuit breaker onto the interior assembly. The interlock bracket will allow only one main circuit breaker to be in the ON (1) position at any time. The bracket slides between the handle of the utility main circuit breaker and the handle of the back -fed standby circuit breaker. NOTE: QO-GFi and QO-AFI circuit breakers cannot be used as back -fed main circuit breakers. Class i Clase Type I Tipo Catalog No. I No, de cat. Ell soporte de sujecion se usa Para sujetar un interruptor automatico de alimentaci6n inversa de reserva en el ensamble interior. Turn OFF (0) all power supplying the load center. 2. Remove the cover assembly or interior trim from the device. 3. Remove and discard the captive interior mounting screw from the interior base. See Figure 1. 4. Install the back -fed standby circuit breaker only in positions 2 and 4. See the load center directory label or numbers stamped on the cover or trim. 5. Install conductors into the back -fed circuit breaker. See circuit breaker for wire range and torque. 6. Install the retaining bracket over the back -fed standby circuit breaker and secure to the interior base with interior mounting screw, provided. Torque to 35 lb -in. (4 N•m). See Figure 1. Locate the cover assembly for indoor devices or interior trim for outdoor devices, removed previously. 2. On the back side of the cover assembly or interior trim, position the drill template (provided) along the top edge of the branch circuit breaker opening (marked with a "2"). Drill three pilot holes for mounting the interlock bracket using a 3132 in. (2.38 mm) drill bit. See Figure 2. 3. Remove the drill template and re -drill the three pilot holes to 3/16 in. (4.76 mm) hole size. Interior mounting screw! Turn the cover assembly or interior trim back to the front side. Position the interlock bracket over the three drilled holes. 2. Attach the interlock bracket using the three shoulder screws and nuts (provided). NOTE: The shoulderscrews are to be installed from the front side. 3. Torque the nuts to 35 lb -in. (4 N•m). See Figure 3. NOTE: Before re -installing the cover assembly or interior trim to the load center device, attach the wiring diagram (provided) to the inside of the device or to the back of the cover. 4. Add Spanish interlock label (provided), if required, over existing English interlock label. See Figure 3. 5. Re -install the cover assembly or interior trim with the interlocking bracket to the load center. See Figure 3. Soporte de enclavamiento del generador 1. Turn OFF (0) the circuit breaker marked "utility". 2. Turn OFF (0) all branch circuit breakers. 3. Slide the interlock bracket up. 4. Turn ON (1) the circuit breaker marked "standby" See Figure 4. 5.
