Good Morning Rebecca:
Thank you for your submittal of the engineering on the Unified Defense roof trusses used in the construction of
your unpermitted detached open garage/utility structure. A review of this document reveals the ultimate wind
speed these trusses were designed for is 115 mph. In our area, the minimum ultimate design wind speed for
Risk Category I structures is 140 mph. Please see copies of the applicable sections of the Florida Building
Code attached. Your design professional and/or truss manufacturer must address this wind load deficiency of
the trusses. Please call if you have any questions.
