PLEASE CLASSIFY THE WORK PERFORMED IN ACCORDANCE WITH
CHAPTER 5, SECTION 501, SUBSECTION 501.1 OF THE EXISTING
BUILDING CODE.
RESPONSE:
Per Chapter 5, Section 501, 501.1, project shall be classified as an
ALTERATION - LEVEL 2
Please refer to the cover sheet CV-1; BUILDING CODE SUMMARY under
“Scope of Work”.

COMMENT:
PLEASE SUBMIT A MANUAL J, S, AND D INCOMPLIANCE WITH CHAPTER 8,
SECTION 809 OF THE 2017 EXISTING BUILDING CODE, AND CHAPTER 4,
SECTION C403 OF THE 2017 FLORIDA ENERGY CODE.
RESPONSE:
See existing note on current sheet M-2.3: “Existing occupancy
classification shall remain unchanged; Building envelope shall remain
unchanged and Existing air conditioning systems / ventilation remains
unchanged (actually reduced & only ductwork being revised). Heat load &
Energy report / calculation shall not be required”

FOR THE RENOVATION. SEE CHAPTER 1, SECTION 107, SUB-SECTION

PLEASE SUBMIT ALL MANUFACTURERS SHOP DRAWING REVIEWED AND
APPROVED BY THE DESIGN PROFESSIONAL IN CHARGE FOR THE
ELEVATED PLATFORM, AND STAIRS. SEE CHAPTER 1, SECTION 106, SUB-
SECTION 106.1 OF THE 2017 FLORIDA BUILDING CODE.

Please refer to enclosed engineered shop drawings for custom fabricated
metal stair and storage mezzanine structure installation.

THE PLANS CALL OUT FOR SHORING OR BRACING. PLEASE SUBMIT A
SHORING PLAN FROM THE DESIGN PROFESSIONAL IN CHARGE. IN
COMPLIANCE WITH SECTION 110.7 OF THE 2017 FLORIDA BUILDING
CODE.
RESPONSE:
Architect cannot find reference to Shoring or Bracing. Shoring is not
required under current scope of work.

PLEASE SHOW ON THE PLANS THE CALCULATIONS FOR THE MEANS OF
EGRESS SIZING. PLEASE SEE 1005.1 OF THE 2017 FLORIDA BUILDING
CODE.

Please refer to enclosed New Sheet to set LS-1.21 for required means of
egress data & calculations.

COMMENT:
PLEASE BE AWARE THAT WE WERE NOT ABLE TO COMPLETE THE
ZONING REVIEW DUE TO THE ADJUSTMENT TO THE SITE PLAN AND
BOARD OF ADJUSTMENT NOT BEING APPROVED YET. THE BUILDING
PLANS WILL PROCEED THROUGH THE REVIEW PROCESS. HOWEVER,
THE PERMIT WILL NOT BE ISSUED UNTIL SITE PLAN APPROVAL HAS
BEEN RECEIVED AND ZONING HAS BEEN ABLE TO FINALIZE THE REVIEW.
PLEASE BE AWARE THAT ADDITIONAL COMMENTS FROM DIFFERENT
DEPARTMENTS MIGHT BE APPLICABLE.
