GENERAL NOTES:

CONCRETE NOTES:

ITEMS, SUCH AS PIPE SLEEVES, ANCHOR BOLTS, ETC PRIOR TO PLACING CONCRETE.
10. REINFORCEMENT FOR CONTINUOUS FOOTINGS SHALL BE CONTINUOUS AND SPLICED WITH A FULL 0 INCH LAP.
PROVIDE CORNER BARS.
11. CONTRACTOR SHALL PROVIDE SAWCUTS IN SLAB @ A MAX. SPACING OF 20 FEET ON CENTER EACH WAY OR 400 S.F.
AND AT ALL RE-ENTRANT CORNERS. SAW CUT SHALL BE 1/4 OF THE SLAB DEPTH AND SHALL BE PERFORMED AS
SOON AS THE CONCRETE HAS HARDENED SUFFICIENTLY ENOUGH TO CONTROL THE STRESSES, AN INHERENT
PROPERTY OF CONCRETE WHICH SOMETIMES RESULTS IN CRACKS (WHICH IS NOT UNCOMMON)
12, CONCRETE FOR SLABS ON GRADE AND ELEVATED SLABS SHALL HAVE 3/4" LARGE AGGREGATE. "PEAROCK" IS NOT
PERMITTED FOR SLABS.
13. CONCRETE PORCH OUTRIGGERS, EXTERIOR FORMED AND POURED COLUMNS, AND REINFORCED EXTERIOR SLABS
SHALL CONTAIN W.R.GRACE DCI-S CORROSION INHIBITOR AT THE RATE OF 2-1/2 GALLONS PER YARD. CONCRETE
SHALL HAVE A MAX. W/C RATIO OF 0.04 AND A MIN. DESIGN STRENGTH OF 5000 PSI @ 28 DAYS.
13.1. ELEVATED SLABS SHALL BE TEMPORARILY SHORED UNTIL FULLY CURED.
14. ALL CONCRETE THAT IS ALTERED (WATER, ADDITIVES, ETC) SHALL BE TESTED TO ENSURE STRENGTH
REQUIREMENTS ARE MET.
15. TERMINATE ALL VERTICAL REINFORCING AT THE TOP AND BOTTOM WITH 10" ACI HOOKS.
16. SOILS SHALL BE TREATED.
FOUNDATION NOTES:
1. SOIL TO BE COMPACTED TO AT LEAST 95% OF MAX. DRY DENSITY AS DETERMINED BY ASTM-1557 (MODIFIED
PROCTOR).
2. FOUNDATIONS ARE DESIGNED BASED ON PRESUMPTIVE SAFE MINIMUM SOIL BEARING PRESSURE OF 2000 PSF.
3. FOOTINGS SHALL BE PLACED ON COMPACTED SOIL FREE OF ORGANIC DEBRIS.
WINDOW AND DOOR NOTES:
1. WINDOWS, DOORS, SHUTTERS, AND ALL COMPONENTS SHALL BE DESIGNED AND INSTALLED PER THE MINIMUM
DESIGN PRESSURES AS PRESCRIBED IN THESE PLANS.
2. ALL EXTERIOR GLAZING SHALL BE IMPACT RESISTANT OR HAVE PROTECTION PER SECTION R301.2.1.1 OF THE 2017
FBC RESIDENTIAL CODE, PROTECTION SHALL BE DESIGNED FOR THE SAME WIND DESIGN PRESSURES AS THE
WINDOWS OR DOORS THEY ARE COVERING.
3. ALL WINDOWS AND DOORS ARE TO BE INSTALLED ON 2X PRESSURE TREATED BUCKS, AND AS PER
MANUFACTURERS SPECIFICATIONS UNLESS OTHERWISE NOTED.
TIMBER NOTES:
1. PRE-ENGINEERED WOOD TRUSSES SHALL BE DESIGNED BY A FLORIDA REGISTERED ENGINEER FOR ALL LOADS
PRESCRIBED. ROOF TRUSS ENGINEERING SHOP DRAWINGS SHALL INCLUDE TRUSS LAYOUT, DESIGN LOADS, TRUSS
REACTION, (DEAD LOAD & LIVE LOAD AND DEAD LOAD & WIND LOAD), AND ALL OTHER INFORMATION REQUIRED FOR
PROPER TRUSS INSTALLATION, ERECTION AND BRACING CRITERIA. DESIGN OF ROOF TRUSSES SHALL IN0.UDE THE
UPLIFT EFFECTS OF 160 MPH DESIGN WIND LOAD BASED ON THE 2017 FLORIDA BUILDING CODE, 6TH EDITION.
1.1. ROOF TRUSSES SHALL NOT BE DELIVERED TO THE CONSTRUCTION SITE MORE THAN 3 DAYS PRIOR TO
INSTALLATION, AND SHALL BE STORED IN ACCORDANCE WITH TPI-95.
1.2. TRUSS ENGINEER SHALL PROVIDE A WEB MEMBER AT ANY AND ALL PITCH CHANGES OF THE TOP AND BOTTOM
CHORD, EXTENDING TO PANEL POINT ON OPPOSITE CHORD. MAX. LENGTH OF BOTTOM PANEL SHALL NOT
EXCEED 9 FT. EXCEPT @ SHORT TRUSS HEELS WHERE REQUIRED HURRICANE STRAP WILL BEND OVERTOP
CHORD. PROVIDE VERTICAL WEB OVER ALL TRUSS BEARING LOCATIONS.
1.3. ALL MEMBERS SHALL BE A MINIMUM OF 2 X 4 #2 SYP.
1.4. ALL VALLEY SETS SHALL BE FRAMED WITH VALLEY SET TRUSSES AND ATTACHED TO TRUSSES BELOW PER
SPECIFIED STRAPPING @ 6' O.C. MAX. ROOF PLYWOOD SHALL EXTEND ON TRUSSES BENEATH ALL OVER
FRAMING. OMIT PLYWOOD AND VALLEY SET BOTTOM CHORD BETWEEN TWO TRUSSES FOR ACCESS.
1.5. IN ADDITION TO THE DESIGN LOADS LISTED, THE TRUSSES SHALL BE DESIGNED FOR ADDITIONAL LOADS
WHERE APPLICABLE (I.E. A/C EQUIPMENT, ETC.)
1.6. DESIGN BOTTOM CHORDS FOR ATTIC TRUSSES FOR LIVE LOAD PER 2017 FBC R301.5. TRUSSES SUPPORTING
MECHANICAL EQUIP. SHALL BE DESIGNED FOR (2)100 LB POINT LOADS T APART LOCATED ANYWHERE ON THE
TOP CHORD.
1.7. TRUSSES MUST BE CONFIGURED TO PROPERLY ATTACH ALL HANGERS SHOWN ON PLANS OR IN SHOP
DRAWINGS. TRUSS ENGINEER MUST SPECIFY ALL TRUSS TO TRUSS CONNECTIONS.
1.8, ALL ROOF TRUSSES AND RAFTERS SHALL BE ANCHORED WITH A TRUSS CONNECTOR STRAP AS PER PLAN OR
SCHEDULE & A VAPOR BARRIER MUST BE PROVIDED BETWEEN TRUSSES AND CONCRETE.
2. ROOF SHEATHING SHALL BE A MIN. OF 5/8" CDX SPAN RATED STRUCTURAL PLYWOOD, INSTALLED WITH FACE GRAIN
PERPENDICULAR TO ROOF FRAMING WITH 10d RING SHANK NAILS 6" O.C. AT PANEL EDGES AND 6" O.C. IN THE FIELD.
PROVIDE 2" X 4" BLOCKING AT HIPS AND VALLEYS. SPACE NAILS AT 4" O.C. AT BLOCKING.
3. EXTERIOR FRAME WALLS SHEATHING TO BE SHEATHED WITH 5/8" APA SHEATHING, SPECIES GROUP 1, SPAN RATING
OF 24/0 OR BETTER. UNLESS OTHERWISE NOTED, INSTALL WITH FACE GRAIN HORIZONTAL. PLYWOOD SHALL BE 4
