Hi Debbie, I didn’t know anything about this letter until we failed inspection, so I emailed Doug Harvey about it and he explained it. So I emailed Melanie at FPL and she approved the tankless water heater at this location – below is the email sent to Doug & Dave. Will this email suffice? Thanks! Hello gentlemen, our newest model is being built with a Tankless Water Heater and one of our superintendents was just instructed by an inspector that she needs a letter from FPL stating that they will “allow” us to use this type of water heater. This leads to many questions I need answered: 1st question - why would FPL have any say in what type of water heater we use? 2nd question – if this is actually accurate, is this a Florida Code that says the power company needs to approve it? 3rd question – who am I supposed to get this letter from at FPL? 4th question – what exactly is this letter supposed to say? Please advise. Thanks so much! Cheri Please Note: Florida has very broad public records laws.
