Dear Mr. Kernan:
Recently you applied for a permit to enclose the open area of the first floor and convert it to a
storage area at 5606 Birch Dr., Fort Pierce, FL 34982. Upon detailed review of your building
permit application, it appears that the first floor elevation is not 18" above the crown of the road.
However, based on chapter 7.04.01 C-3 of the St Lucie County Land Development Code, the
Planning & Development Service Director may grant relief to the provision because the finished
floor elevation exceeds the minimum required flood zone elevation of 17'. We will proceed in
reviewing your building permit application.
