**Actual excerpt from the 2017 61h Edition Florida Building Code.
It is recommended that a self sealing underlayment, at minimum, i.e.,certain peel &stick products, be used to seal
around the fastener penetrations when a slope below 3/12 is encountered.
The roofing contractor should use their own professional experience and judgement on each situation, and make their
own determination on whether or not a particular low slope roof is an acceptable substrate for the particular metal
roof panel being proposed to the customer. Consideration should be given to many factors, including exposed
fasteners.
It is ultimately up to the installer to ensure that proper installation methods have been performed correctly in any
roofing installation, and therefore, Extreme Metal Fabricators, LLC accepts no liability when a determination is made
whether or not to use a metal roofing panel, installed on a roof slope below 3/12 Slope.
