GENERAL NOTES /TIE -DOWNS
NOTES:
1. FRAME TIE -DOWNS SHALL BE INSTALLED TO PROPERLY SECURE THE HOME
2. VERTICAL TIE -DOWNS ARE REQUIRED IN ADDITION TO THE FRAME TIE -DOWNS.
3. VERTICAL TIES MAY BE SECURED TO THE SAME GROUND ANCHOR AS THE FRAME TIE -DOWNS WHEN A DOUBLE
HEADED ANCHOR IS USED AND IS CAPABLE OF RESISTING THE COMBINED LOADING. WHEN ANCHORS ARE NOT
INSTALLED AT THE ANGLES) SPECIFIED IN THE TABLE(S), A STABILIZER PLATE MUST. BE INSTALLED
IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE ANCHOR MANUFACTURER'S INSTRUCTIONS.
4. FRAME TIE -DOWNS AND ANCHORS ARE NOT SUPPLIED BY JACOBSEN HOMES (TO BE SUPPLIED BY OTHERS).

8. DESIGN BASED ON 95 1/2' 1-BEAM SPACING AND A MAXIMUM SIDEWALL HEIGHT OF 8'-0' (82' I -BEAM
SPACING IS ACCEPTABLE FOR 16 WIDE SECTIONS OF MULTI -WIDE UNITS W/ 96' SIDEWALL HEIGHT ONLY).
9. LONGITUDINAL TIES SHALL BE INSTALLED ON THE INSIDE OF EACH I -BEAM AT THE CROSS -MEMBER LOCATIONS
OR PER ALTERNATE DETAILS IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE SPACING TABLES AND NOTES 4, 6, 7 AND 16.
10. FRAME TIE -DOWNS SHALL BE 'WRAPPED' AROUND THE MAN I -BEAM (AS SHOWN ON TYP. CROSS-SECTION
DETAILS) AND SHALL COME OFF THE TOP FLANGE OF THE I -BEAM WITH AN APPROVED BUCKLE OR LOOP.
11. ANCHORS SHOULD BE CERTIFIED FOR THESE CONDITIONS BY A PROFESSIONAL ENGINEERARCHITECT OR A
NATIONALLY RECOGNIZED TESTING LABORATORY AS TO THEIR RESISTANCE BASED ON THE INSTALLED ANGLE OF
THE DIAGONAL TIE AND/OR VERTICAL LOADING AND ANGLE OF ANCHOR INSTALLATION AND TYPE OF SOIL IN
WHICH THE ANCHOR IS TO BE INSTALLED.
12. GROUND ANCHORS SHOULD BE EMBEDDED BELOW THE FROST LINE AND BE AT LEAST 12' ABOVE THE WATER
TABLE
13. GROUND ANCHORS SHOULD BE INSTALLED TO THEIR FULL DEPTH, AND STABILIZER PLATES SHOULD BE INSTALLED
TO PROVIDE ADDED RESISTANCE TO OVERTURNING OR SLIDING FORCES.
