Good afternoon Mike, Please see the following response from our Engineer regarding this project: "The change for the panels from 24 gauge to 22 gauge was as per client request. The reason for the change was that the only Florida Product Approval for a corrugated panel available was for a 24-gauge panel. There are numerous other approvals that have structural panels in both gauges. The added stiffness of a 22-gauge panel decreases the deflection and strengthens the fastener pullover values. The fasteners would fail, however, before any torque affects the structural framing. This is an opinion only. Any formal statements may require structural testing." Don Flood, P.E. The concern is whether or not the building will be too rigid with the 22 — gauge steel corrugated panels with respect to torque loading of the existing building's columns and beams. I am requesting if the design report could be amended to address the stiffness concern. I greatly appreciate your help with this concern and please contact me for any additional information. The County is OPEN for business, though, the building remains closed to the general public to keep our citizens and employees safe during the pandemic. The Building Department is operating in a new location, just a few feet from the main lobby, at the $W corner of the building (formerly the Utilities Department). Look for the GREEN A -Frame signs. The hours of operation are Monday — Friday from 8:00 am to 4:30 am. All staff is available by email or phone. Please be safe during these unprecedented times while we do our best to help the community remain safe as we operate at the new normal. If you need to contact me, my direct extension is 462-64b3. Please be safe during these unprecedented times while we do our best to help the community remain safe as we continue to operate at the new normal.
