I have spoken with Jeff, looked at the license history and remembered some of the old information. I think he is fine to pour a slab, they have done concrete work in the past and the
only real difference here is the concrete will not be supporting an aluminum structure.

I have been licensed since 2008. I recently renewed my license this year. Master Craft has conducted business in St Lucie County since 1972. We initially poured concrete slabs, installed
carports, sheds, and screen rooms for Spanish Lakes until 2009. The most recent project involved a new manufactured home set up in Tropical Isles. The permit number was 2003-0113.
The project was a concrete slab with driveway, concrete steps, stucco skirting, carport, and utility shed. Contact me if you have any other questions.

It has been my experience the State usually reviews someones experience and includes wording in the approval of a specialty contractor regarding the intent of what they are issuing
the license for. Do we have any background on this contractor regarding experience? Can we find out when the license was issued and find out if there were any stipulations that were
included? If they have concrete experience that is documented, I think the definition allows them to construct a concrete slab. On the other hand, if the license was issued for non-habitable
wooden sheds on grade, I would question if they have the experience to do it. Sorry to answer your question with a couple questions, I would be happy to discuss it with you.

Doug,
A contractor Jeff Jackman 772-370-1382 called us to ask if with his Specialty Structure State License SCC131150586, if he was able to build a concrete slab for a mobile home which he
was not going to build a structure on? I called DBPR and spoke w/Edmarie, which was unable to give a clear definition of the Specialty Structure Contractor’s Scope. They provided
the lower and referenced state statute which I provided below. DBPR stated to check with our building official for interpretation of the state statute. Please advise
DBPR Website states:
SCC, RX – A “specialty contractor” means a contractor whose scope of work and responsibility is limited to a particular phase of construction and whose scope is limited to a subset
of the activities described in the categories established in s. 489.105, F.S.
489.105 Definitions.—As used in this part:
(15) “Structural component” means any vertical or horizontal load-bearing member of a structure which supports dead or live loads in addition to its own weight and includes, but is
not limited to, a foundation, an exterior or interior load-bearing wall, a column, a column beam, a floor, and a roof structure.
