• Comment #1: 'The cost of construction seems low. A copy of the contract for the job needs
to be submitted."
Response: As requested, please find a copy of the executed contract. Additionally, please
find a copy of a recent appraisal that was utilized for the recent sale of the property to the
current owners. Pursuant to the 2017 FBC 6" Edition definition of Substantial
Improvement, you will find that the cost does not equal or exceed 50 percent of the market
value of the structure before the improvement or repair is started.
• Comment #2: "In order to verify whether or not the work is substantial improvement a
survey of the property showing the residence and the flood zones will need to be
submitted."
Response: As requested please find a copy of a recent property survey that was
performed in preparation of the home selling to current owners.
