Attn: Leslie Olson
Mrs. Olson,
I am writing you to request and exception from code 7.04.01 requirement that this building be 18"
above the crown of the adjacent roadway. This property is outside of a Special Flood Area and the
building will be a work shop and shall be non-habitable/non-residential in its proposed usage. I feel it
would be impracticable for this building elevation to be 18" above the crown of the road as raising the
slab to this height would be detrimental on the adjacent properties as well as on my property. This
height would cause pooling, flooding and/or standing water on all adjacent properties. This requirement
would also place an undue burden on home owner to build long tapered ramp for entry in work shop.
Based on the facts stated above, I would like to ask that I be allowed set the final finished grade of this
building at 6"above the crown of the road. This would also set final grade 6" above the height of my
existing pool deck. I have attached a few photos with this letter to better illustrate the burden of the
height requirements at the building site.
Thank you for your consideration of this exception,
Thomas Parker
