Ocean Dr., Unite #310, Jensen Beach, FL 34957. Contact: Matt Price 772-521-2357 Please find the attached plans and, any notes, approved by Ross Andrews, AIA. 1.Atlantis 310 pg 1 Floor plan-ross. Fire rating of wall: A 2 hr 8” hollow cmu fire partition separates units and all interior walls are non-load bearing. Any 8” cmu face shell disturbance shall have remediation of filling the hollow cell full of grout equal to the face shell thickness. Since the existing wall has 1/2” gypsum board it needs to remain or be replaced since it may have been needed for the 2 hour rating. For example: the minimum equivalent thickness of the block normally would be 3.6” which yields 95.5 min. to which the non-fire side of 1/2” gyp board would add another 33.75 minutes (15 min [table722.5.1.4(2)] x 2.25 factor [table 722.2.1.4(1)]= 33.75) for a total of 95.5+33.75=129.25 minutes, or a 2 hour wall according to the Florida Building Code. The tub area that has 1/2” cement board and tile will more than equal the 1/2” gyp bd and is okay. Fire rating of ceiling/floor: The ceiling finishes of furred gyp bd or pine should not affect the 7” concrete 2 hr floor, nor should the penetration of any 1 1/2” fasteners. As per table 722.2.2.1 in the Florida Building Code the thickness of a 2 hour 1 of 2 concrete floor can range from 3.6” to 5” depending on the aggregate used. Taking the worst case of 5” we still have 2” left before affecting the rating. 2.Atlantis 310 pg 2 Electrical-ross A single 120 volt floor receptacle in a single gang PVC wet location rated rectangular box (Carlon FS Box 18 cubic inches with a 1/2 inlet) recessing 1 1/2” in the floor should not affect the fire rating of the floor (see #1 above). 3.Atlantis 310 pg 3 Hvac-ross 4.Atlantis 310 pg 4 Plumbing-ross As per #1 above the fastening of the plumbing to the floor above with tapcons or concrete nails penetrating 1 1/2” should not affect the fire rating of the floor. 5.Receipt of the engineer's report on window and door design pressures is pending shortly and can be provided by the owner upon receipt. Manufacturer's window and door qualifications will be separately provided by the owner. Sincerely, Ross Andrews, AIA 2 of 2
