1. GENERAL
A. ALL WORK SHALL be done in accordance with the tndarld Building
Code and with all applicable regulations.
B. DRAWNGS: Refer to all drawings for coordinationifo

2. SHOP DRAWNGS: Contractors shall submit for approval, within 30 days
after signing contract, a minknum of five copies of fully descriptive
literature, including but not limited to: air outlets.
3. DESIGN PARAMETERS:
A Outdoor design temperature (Summer): 91 F DB and 79 F WB
B. Outdoor design temperature (Wnter): 45 F
C. Indoor design temperature (Summer): 78 F DB
D. indoor design temperature (Wnter} 72 F DB
4. ALL THERMOSTATS SHALL have heating mode maximum setting of 75 F, and
cooling mode minimum setting of 70 F. The thermostat shall be arranged
to prevent the simultaneous operation of heating and cooling.
5. ELECTRICAL CONTROLS and power wiring: Under electrical contract.
6. EQUIPMENT SPECIFIED BY manufacturer's number shall include all
accessories, controls, etc., listed in the catalog as standard with the
equipment. Optional or additional accessories shall be furnished as
specified
7. MATERIALS:
A. DUCTWORK:
a. All supply air ductwork shall be 1 1/2" inch thick fiberglass
ductboard, fabricated and installed as per latest edition
of SMACNA °Fibrous Glass Duct Manual.' R-6.0 min.
b. All toilet exhaust ductwork shall be galvanized sheet metal
or aluminum duct not lighter than 26 gage.
c. All duct dimensions are clear inside dimensions.
d. Flexible insulated ductwork with 1 1/2" thick fiberglass insulation
with FRK vapor barrier, class I air duct, U.L listed. R-6.0 min.
e. Dryer ductwork: 26 ga. min, galvanized steel, having a
smooth interior surface with pints running in the direction
of airflow and without sheet metal screws or other fasteners
in the air stream. Maximum length shall not exceed 25 feet.

8. PROVIDE metal round fittings with damper operator at all flexible duct
connection to supply duct.
9. TEST & BALANCE: Contractor shall test & balance all ventilation & air
conditioning systems of Test & Balance report to owner for approval.
10. CONTROLS: Air Conditioning System shall be started & stopped thru individual
thermostat. Individual thermostat shall start/stop supply fan & activate
cooling/heating system as selected. A activation of unit duct smoke
detectector shall sound alarm bell, and indicating light, and shag stop
fan coil unit.

FIRE PROTECTION SYSTEM
1. EXISTING FIRE SPRINKLER SYSTEM SHALL BE revised and
adjusted to Provide a fully automatic wet pipe sprinkler
system, providing 100% coverage of all areas. System
shall match existing. System shall be designed and installed
as per latest NFPA 13 manual.

complete with drains, traps, supplies and any other accessory
required fixtures shall comply with the SFBC water conservation
standards.
4. MATERIALS:

PVC, DWV, Schedule 40.
b. Domestic water. Copeer pipe, Type L with sweat wrought

acceptable. Isolate piping from concrete with
insulating material.
c. Domestic water supply assembly: Chrome finish tubing
with angle off valves.
d, Condensing drain : pvc,dwv pipe and fittings
B. INSULATION:
a. Condensate drain: 3/4 in. thick, foam plastic
insulation, fire resistant type.
5. ALL AUTOMATIC ELECTRIC water heaters shall meet the local
energy conservation standards.
6. PIPING TEST AND DISINFECTiONS:
A Test: All sanitary and domestic water supply piping shall
be tested for leaks before piping is concealed or connected
to equipment and plumbing fixtures.
7. VALVES: Domestic water valves shall be of bronze body,
sweat ends.
9. ALL OUTDOORS FLOOR clean outs shall be terminated up to grade
and shall be marked.
10. CONTRACTOR SHALL COORDINATE exact location of sanitary, and
domestic water piping before starting any work. Notify

5. ELECTRICAL CONTROLS and power wiring: Under electrical contract.
6. EQUIPMENT SPECIFIED BY manufacturers number shall include all
accessories, controls, etc., listed in the catalog as standard with the
equipment. Optional or additional accessories shall be furnished as
specified.
7. MATERIALS:
A. DUCTWORK:
a. All supply air ductwork shall be 1 1/2" Inch thick fiberglass
ductboard, fabricated and installed as per latest edition
of SMACNA "fibrous Glass Duct Manual. R-6.0 min.
b. All toilet exhaust ductwork shall be galvanized sheet metal
or aluminum duct not lighter than 26 gage.
c. All duct dimensions are clear inside dimensions.
d. Flexible insulated ductwork with 1 1/2" thick fiberglass insulation
with FRK vapor barrier, class I air duct, U.L. listed. R-6.0 min.
e. Dryer ductwork: 26 ga. min. galvanized steel, having a
smooth interior surface with pints running In the direction
of airflow and without sheet metal screws or other fasteners
in the air stream. Maximun length shall not exceed 25 feet.

8. PROVIDE: metal round fittings with damper operator at all flexible duct
connection to supply duct.
9. TEST & BALANCE Contractor shall test & balance all ventilation & air
conditioning systems of Test & Balance report to owner for approval.
10. CONTROLS. Air Conditioning System shall be started & stopped thru individual
thermostat. Individual thermostat shall start/stop supply fan & activate
cooling/heating system as selected. A activation of unit duct smoke
detectector shall sound alarm bell, and indicating light, and shall stop
fan coil unit.
