At your request,McCarthy and Associates has reviewed the St. Lucie County plan comments dated April 4
and 5 2017. See the below for comments:
Relevant Structural Comments.
Comment 1: All plan sheets provides state the drawings are not for construction. Please provide the
construction set of plans per the provisions of FBC 107.
Response 1: The plan note has been removed in revised set 1 dated June 16, 2017.
Comment 2: Please show on plans the proposed soil compaction percentage so compliance my be determined
in the provision of section 1801 of the 2401 FBC.
Response 2: The plans have been revised with minimum allowable design bearing pressures listed. Contractor
to very during construction.
Comment 3: The roof diagram nailing schedule on the plan page S 1.1 numbers 5 and 6 state different type of
nails than shown on roof framing plan notes.
Response 3: Follow nailing diagram Sheet S1.1.
Comment 4: Please submit Roof product approval.
Response 4: See attached for signed Florida Product Approval for Roofing.
Comment 5: Please provide type, quantity and size of fasteners for all strapping and connections per 107.2.1
of the 2014 Florida Building Code.
Response 5: All straps to be installed per manufacture specifications. Plans have been updated per
manufacturer recommendations.
Comment 6: Re Simpson HCQ410 connector.
Response 6: Plans have been revised to remove this connector. A custom plate will be used at this location
