.REVIEW:
Review of the above subject building permit application
indicates there are no structures proposed within fifty (50) feet
of the river, therefore, a management and conservation plan does
not have to be developed. HOWEVER, THERE MAY BE WETLANDS ONSITE
THAT ARE MORE THAN FIFTY (50) FEET FROM THE RIVER.
CONCLUSION:
Since wetlands may exist (more than fifty (50) from the
river) within the project's building area, I have requested
assistance from the FDER to determine if a State permit would be
needed for the project. You will receive a copy of my
correspondence to FDER.
The application may continue to be processed at this time,
however, PLEASE. DO NOT ISSUE A BUILDING PERMIT UNTIL I HAVE
RECEIVED WORD FROM FDER.

Dear Chris:
Re: Site inspection of property (residential lot) immediately north of Driftwood
Manor Park off of Palmetto Avenue.
The riverbank' along this lot slopes abruptly several feet above high water level on
the North Fork. Brazilian pepper, Cabbage palm, and live oak predominate in the
vicinity of the embankment interface.
A dead end finger slough enters the property across the south boundary as indicated on
the included site plan. It does not traverse the entire lot width.
The proposed homesite and roadway, as illustrated on the included site plan, appears
to be upland based.

Dear Brad:
Enclosed are the following items regarding the above
subject:
1. Site Location Map;
2. Aerial Photograph; and .
3. Site Plan Map.
Would you please assist the County in our review of this
project?
As you will see from the site plan, the proposed structure
does not lie within fifty (50) feet of the river. Therefore, the
applicant is not required to develop a management and
conservation plan, pursuant to the County's St. Lucie River Code,
which would identify the general extent of wetlands.
However, review of the project site which is outlined in
yellow (and crosshatched) on the aerial shows some indication
that wetlands may exist more than fifty (50) feet from the river.
If that is -the case, the County would like to know if a FDER
permit will be needed fbr any part of the project prior the
issuance of a building permit.
Your assistance in this regard would be greatly appreciated.
