Mr. Harvey,
We are sending everything that we have been able to accumulate and learn about our tiki that
was built prior to our purchase of 115 N. Las Olas Dr., in Jensen Beach.
We learned that Big Kahuna built the tiki.They have been very difficult to work with regarding
getting drawings for the 10'x10' tiki they built.They seem to be under the mistaken impression
that no permits is required if they are Seminole certified. They want to charge me$2,000 for
drawings, while the tiki only cost about$2,400 to build.
We were able to get an invoice, on Big Kahuna letterhead,from when it was built (attached). It
outlines a few details of how it was constructed. Evidently, the crew that built it "never works
from plans". We have provided many high-quality photos (attached)
We had an electrician inspect the electrical work. He has provided a letter stating that
everything was completed to code (attached). He specifically mentioned that he was impressed
that everything was grounded correctly and has its own breaker in the panel.
We have also included a copy of the survey that was completed at the time we purchased the
property. Our understanding from reading the code, is that a structure must be at least 7'feet
from an intersection of property lines.The tiki is more than 10' from the nearest property
intersection.
Finally, every engineering firm we have contacted wants to charge thousands of dollars (more
than I've ever paid an architect or contractor for bigger building plans!), and they are months
away from being able to do anything for me. So, I am at your mercy, here. We, of course, are
willing to do whatever we need to do to keep the tiki. It has survived several storms, tropical
storms, and a close call with a hurricane, and we never dropped one palm branch.As an
example, during the last storm, our neighbor sustained damage to his fence, yet the tiki looks
brand new.
If you have any authority, whatsoever,to help ease this process, we would be extremely
grateful.

This Invoice contains the entire detailed agreement of the parties.Al prior understandings and agreements,whether written or oral,between the parties are merged
into this Invoice_On re-thatches additional charges may incur if it is determined that the dimensions of the tiki roof is larger than originally determined by customer or
salesman.Customer is responsible for removing items infunder tiki hut/bar while work is being done. Big Kahuna is not liable for damages to unremoved items.
We use authentic palm leaves,therefore we cannot be held liable for insects that may remain on palm leaves.After palm leaves are cut they are subject to shrinkage
and they will change in color after we thatch your tiki but Due to the nature of palm leaves drying,you may encounter small opening until the leaves have totally laid
down.This usually takes approximately 30-60 days,Cold weather may prematurely shrink palm leaves.Palm leaves are guaranteed for 90 days. No warranty on tiki
but against act of nature,weather,fire,or insects.Customer must mark any pipelines,cables,etc.,either above or under ground that may interfere with construction.
We cannot be held liable to damages to these lines. Customer is responsible payment for any and all permits.If pavers,tiles,marble,etc are removed to install
posts,then customer is responsible to reinstall those.DEPOSIT IS NON-REFUNDABLE,PAYMENT IS DUE ACCORDING TO PAYMENT SCHEDULE,IF LISTED,OR
IN FULL UPON COMPLETION OF EACH ITEM.By signing below you agree with the terms outlined above,
