Hwy A1A Permit No. 1901-0543 To Whom It May Concern: We have conducted numerous inspections at the above referenced, structure, and have found several issues related to the structural integrity of the residence. We have coordinated with the contractor to remedy these concerns, culminating in an extensive repairs specification package (available upon request). We have inspected the*application of these repair specifications at various steps of their implementation and have found the repairs adequately applied. Specifically, we do hereby certify that: • We inspected and reviewed all non-engineered concrete beam penetrations. Many of these instances we found to be non-problematic. For those where we had determined the beam to be compromised, we had directed the contractor to add ancillary steel support members. We have inspected all the prescribed installations, and have found them in keeping with the design specifications. • We have inspected and reviewed all potential structural compromises to the structural shear-walls (ad hoc flood vent installations). We have directed the contractor to re-locate J the flood vents to non-structural locations and repair the shear-wall. We have inspected the prescribed repairs the shear-wall, and have found them in keeping with our design specifications. • We have witnessed several instances of exposed steel reinforcement throughout the structure. We have instructed the contractor in the required method and materials to repair and patch such exposures, We have inspected the prescribed patch-work, and have found it in keeping with the design and manufacturer specifications. • The county has had issue with the "frangibility" of the exterior stairway at the rear patio. We have provided the contractor with a means to increase the frangibility of the stairway without critical compromise to the stability of the stairway. We have inspected this modification, and have found it in keeping with our instructions. It is our determination that these steps are frangible (break-away) in accordance with FBC, FDEP, and FEMA guidelines.
