SCOPE:
This NOA is being issued under the applicable rules and regulations governing the use of construction materials.
The documentation submitted has been reviewed and accepted by Miami-Dade County RER - Product Control
Section to be used in Miami-Dade County and other areas where allowed by the Authority Having Jurisdiction
(AHJ).
This NOA shall not be valid after the expiration date stated below. The Miami-Dade County Product Control
Section (in Miami-Dade County) and/or the AHJ (in areas other than Miami-Dade County) reserve the right to have
this product or material tested for quality assurance purposes. If this product or material fails to perform in the
accepted manner, the manufacturer will incur the expense of such testing and the AHJ may immediately revoke,
modify, or suspend the use of such product or material within their jurisdiction. RER reserves the right to revoke
this acceptance, if it is determined by Miami-Dade County Product Control Section that this product or material
fails to meet the requirements of the applicable building code.
This product is approved as described herein, and has been designed to comply with the Florida Building Code
including the High Velocity Hurricane Zone of the Florida Building Code.
DESCRIPTION: TAMKO Underlayments
LABELING: Each unit shall bear a permanent label with the manufacturer's name or logo, city, state and
following statement: "Miami-Dade County Product Control Approved", unless otherwise noted herein.
RENEWAL of this NOA shall be considered after a renewal application has been filed and there has been no
change in the applicable building code negatively affecting the performance of this product.
TERMINATION of this NOA will occur after the expiration date or if there has been a revision or change in the
materials, use, and/or manufacture of the product or process. Misuse of this NOA as an endorsement of any product,
for sales, advertising or any other purposes shall automatically terminate this NOA. Failure to comply with any
section of this NOA shall be cause for termination and removal of NOA.
ADVERTISEMENT: The NOA number preceded by the words Miami-Dade County, Florida, and followed by the
expiration date may be displayed in advertising literature. If any portion of the NOA is displayed, then it shall be
done in its entirety.
INSPECTION: A copy of this entire NOA shall be provided to the user by the manufacturer or its distributors and
shall be available for inspection at the job site at the request of the Building Official.

range at a rate of 20-40 lbs./sq. Vertical strapping of the roof with AWAPLAN or
AWAPLAN TUL underlayments is acceptable.
When used in Tile roof systems the cap sheet shall be back nailed to deck with approved
annular ring shank nails and tin caps at a maximum 12” o.c. at the side laps and 6" o.c. at the
end laps. No nails or tin caps shall be exposed.
Surfacing: Approved Mechanically Fastened or Mortar Adhered Tile or Metal Roofing Assembly or
Approved Roofing Assemblies where an ASTM D6164 underlayment is allowed.

GENERAL LIMITATIONS:
1. Fire classification is not part of this acceptance.
2. This acceptance is for prepared roofing applications. Minimum deck requirements shall be in compliance with
applicable building code. TAMKO Underlayments shall be installed in strict compliance with applicable
Building Codes.
3. All TAMKO Underlayments shall be applied to a smooth, clean and dry surface with deck free of
irregularities. Deck shall be fastened in strict compliance with applicable Building Codes.
4. All TAMKO Underlayments shall not be applied over an existing roof membrane as a recover system but may
be applied over an approved roofing Base/Anchor sheet underlayment.
5. TW Metal and Tile Underlayment, Moisture Guard, TW Underlayment, TAMKO SA Base and TAMKO SA
Cap shall not be left exposed as a temporary roof for longer than 30 days of application.
6. AWAPLAN and AWAPLAN TUL shall not be left exposed as a temporary roof for longer than 180 days of
application.
7. The standard maximum roof pitch for TAMKO SA Cap shall be 5:12 for flat tile and profiled tiles with lugs.
See Tile Staging/Stacking Detail.
8. The standard maximum roof pitch for AWAPLAN and AWAPLAN TUL shall be 4:12 for flat tile and profiled
tiles with lugs. See Tile Staging/Stacking Detail.
9. Tile storage shall be on a battens or toe boards when the underlayment slope limit (See #7 & #8 above) is
exceeded. Care should be taken during the loading procedure to keep foot traffic to a minimum and to avoid
dropping of tile directly on the underlayment.
10. Refer to Prepared Roofing system Product Control Notice of Acceptance for listed approval of this product
with specific prepared roofing products.
11. The TAMKO Underlayments may be used with any approved roof covering Notice of Acceptance listing the
TAMKO Underlayment as a component part of an assembly in the Notice of Acceptance. If TAMKO
Underlayments are not listed, a request may be made to the Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ) or the Miami-
Dade County Product Control Section for approval provided that appropriate documentation is provided to
detail compatibility of the products, wind uplift resistance, and fire testing results.

GENERAL LIMITATIONS:
12. All nails in the deck shall be carefully checked for protruding heads. Re-fasten any loose decking panels.
Sweep the deck thoroughly to remove any dust and debris prior to application.
13. When applying the membrane in the valley, start at the low point and work to the high point, rolling the
membrane from the center outward in both directions. For ridge applications, center the membrane and roll
from the center outward in both directions.
14. For the self adhered membranes roll or broom the entire membrane surface so as to have 100% contact with
the base sheet, giving special attention to overlap areas.
15. Flash vent pipes, stacks, chimneys and penetrations in compliance with Roof Assembly current Product
Control Notice of Acceptance and applicable Building Code.
16. All protrusions or drains shall be initially taped with a 6" piece of approved TAMKO Underlayment. The
flashing tape shall be pressed in place and formed around the protrusion to ensure a tight fit. A second layer of
the same TAMKO Underlayment shall be applied over the taped underlayment.
17. All products listed herein shall have a quality assurance audit in accordance with the Florida Building Code
and Rule 61G20-3 of the Florida Administrative Code.
18. All membranes or packaging shall bear the imprint or identifiable marking of the manufacturer's name or logo,
city, state and the following statement: "Miami-Dade County Product Control Approved" or the Miami-Dade
County Product Control Seal as shown below.

TAMKO APPLICATION GUIDANCE SPECIFIC TO THIS NOA
FOR THE FOLLOWING PRODUCTS WHEN USED AS UNDERLAYMENTS
PLEASE CHECK WITH LOCAL BUILDING CODES REGARDING LIMITATIONS OF SPECIFIC APPLICATIONS. LOCAL
CODES MAY SUPERSEDE THE TAMKO REQUIREMENTS AND RECOMMENDATIONS LISTED BELOW.
Moisture Guard
1. TAMKO accepts direct adhesion to wood decks in situations where direct deck installation is
permitted by applicable local building codes.
2. Moisture Guard is not to be used in any situation that requires permanent exposure.
3. TAMKO permits application with roll length parallel to roof slope at slopes at or above 21:12. All
side and end laps must be rolled with a roofing seam roller in addition to brooming the entire
surface.
TW Metal and Tile Underlayment
1. TAMKO accepts direct adhesion to wood decks in situations where direct deck installation is
permitted by applicable local building codes.
2. TW Metal and Tile Underlayment is not to be used in any situation that requires permanent
exposure.
3. When used as a concrete or clay tile underlayment TAMKO requires mechanical fastening of
every tile regardless of slope or tile attachment method.
4. Minimum elapsed time after installation and before loading of concrete or clay roof tiles is 48
hours.
5. TAMKO permits application with roll length parallel to roof slope at slopes at or above 21:12. All
side and end laps must be rolled with a roofing seam roller in addition to brooming the entire
surface.
TW Underlayment
1. TAMKO accepts direct adhesion to wood decks in situations where direct deck installation is
permitted by applicable local building codes.
2. TW Underlayment is not to be used in any situation that requires permanent exposure.
3. TAMKO permits application with roll length parallel to roof slope at slopes at or above 21:12. All
side and end laps must be rolled with a roofing seam roller in addition to brooming the entire
surface.
TAMKO SA Base and Awabase SA
1. TAMKO accepts direct adhesion to wood decks in situations where direct deck installation is
permitted by applicable local building codes.
2. SA Base and Awabase SA are not to be used in any situation that requires permanent exposure.
3. TAMKO permits application with roll length parallel to roof slope at or above ¾:12. All side and
end laps must be rolled with a roofing seam roller in addition to brooming the entire surface.
4. When mechanically-fastening SA Base and Awabase SA, the release liner may be left in place.
Fasten the sheet along the side lap at intervals of no more than 8 inches. Stagger fasteners on no
more than 16 inch centers along two lines located 13 inches from each edge of the base sheet.

3. Fasten the sheet along the side lap at intervals of no more than 8 inches. Stagger fasteners on no
more than 16 inch centers along two lines located 13 inches from each edge of the base sheet.
TAMKO SA Cap
1. TAMKO accepts direct adhesion to wood decks in situations where direct deck installation is
permitted by applicable local building codes.
2. SA Cap is permitted to be used as a concrete or clay tile underlayment for mechanically-fastened
or mortar-set tile. When used with mortar attachment of tile, TAMKO requires mechanical
fastening of every tile regardless of slope.
3. Minimum elapsed time after installation and before loading of roof tiles is 48 hours.
4. TAMKO permits application with roll length parallel to roof slope at slopes at or above ¾:12. All
side and end laps must be rolled with a roofing seam roller in addition to brooming the entire
surface.
5. All adhesive-to-granule laps must be formed using TAMKO TWM-1 Mastic, TAM-PRO Q-15
Elastomeric Flashing Cement or TAM-PRO Q-20 Premium SBS Flashing Cement as directed in
the applicable TAMKO application instructions.
6. Damage to the membrane that occurs during installation must be repaired by setting a patch of SA
Cap that extends a minimum of 6 inches beyond the damaged area on all sides in TAM-PRO Q-15
Elastomeric Flashing cement or TAM-PRO Q-20 Premium SBS Flashing Cement.
AWAPLAN
1. AWAPLAN is permitted to be used as a concrete or clay tile underlayment for mechanically-
fastened tile.
2. TAMKO permits application with roll length parallel to roof slope at slopes at or above ¾:12.
3. Damage to the membrane that occurs during installation must be repaired by setting a patch of
AWAPLAN that extends a minimum of 6 inches beyond the damaged area on all sides in TAM-
PRO Q-15 Elastomeric Flashing cement or TAM-PRO Q-20 Premium SBS Flashing Cement.
AWAPLAN TUL

mechanically-fastened or mortar-set tile.

AWAPLAN TUL that extends a minimum of 6 inches beyond the damaged area on all sides in
