of County Commissioners granted a petition for a major adjustment
to an existing conditional use known as St. Lucie County Sheriff's
Department Road Patrol Facility to install a temporary modular
office facility.

A RESOLUTION APPROVING A MAJOR ADJUSTMENT
TO AN EXISTING CONDITIONAL USE KNOWN AS
ST. LUCIE COUNTY SHERIFF'S DEPARTMENT
ROAD PATROL FACILITY
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of St. Lucie
County, Florida, has made the following determinations:
1. By operation of Section 3.3.122(7) of the St. Lucie
County Zoning Ordinance, effective July 1, 1984, the St. Lucie
County Sheriff's Department - Road Patrol Facility - became an
existing conditional use.
3. The St. Lucie County Board of County Commissioners and
the St. Lucie County Sheriff have proposed a major adjustment to
the existing conditional use.
4. The St. Lucie County Board of County Commissioners
propose to install a temporary modular office facility for use by
Road Patrol Personal.
5. On September 23, 1986, the Board held a public hearing
on the proposed major adjustment, after publishing notice of such
hearing in the Fort Pierce News Tribune on September 4, 1986, and
notifying by mail all owners of property within 500 feet of the
project.
6. The proposed major adjustment is consistent with both
the current zoning and the St. Lucie County Growth Management
Pol icy Plan.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by th e Boa r d of County
Commissioners of St. Lucie County, Florida:
A. Pursuant to Section 5.4.500(2) (b) of the St. Lucie
County Zoning Ordinance, the proposed major adjustment to the
project known as St. Lucie CoUnty Sheriff's Department - Road
Patrol Facility be, and the same is hereby, approved.
B. This major adjustment to a conditional use shall expire
on September 23, 1987, unless a building permit or zoning
compliance is applied for.
C. A cOpy of this resolution shall be placed on file with
the St. Lucie County Development Coordinator.
After motion and second, the vote on this resolution was as
follows:

Petition of St. Lucie County Board of County
Commissioners for a Major Adjustment to an Existing
Conditional Use at St. Lucie County Sheriff's
Department Road Patrol Facility.
On Tuesday, September 23, 1986, you will be asked to review
a request on behalf of the St. Lucie County Sheriff's Department
to provide more office~.space at the Road Patrol Facility at the
County Maintenance Compound on Oleander Avenue. As the. Board is
aware, the Sherilff's Department has for some time been
experiencing a shortage of office space at this location. To
offer some temporary relief to this problem, the Sheriff
requested, and this Board budgeted for, the use of a modular
office unit. m
With the adoption of the St. L'ucie County Zoning Ordinance
in 1~84, this Compound became an Existing Conditional Use. Any
changes in the physical facilities of this site must be done in
accordance with Section 5.4.000 of this Ordinance. County Staff
has reviewed this
proposed adjustment and recommends that the
Board approve this ~iequest.

In compliance with the provisions of the St. Lucie County Zoning
Resolution, you are hereby advised that the St. Lucie County Board
of County Commissioners have petitioned the Board of County Commissioners
for a Major Adjustment to an Existing Conditional use in I (Insti-
tutional) zoning on the following described property:
28-35-40, Begin at intersection of Edwards Road and Oleander Ave,

Re: Modular Unit
Dear Sheriff Knowles:
At the Board of County Commissioner.s Work Session August 4,
1986, the temporary office space to be used as road patrol
expansion was discussed, and staff advised the Board that a
Conditional Use Change would have to be advertised in order to
place a modular unit at the Oleander site.
At the Board meeting August 5, 1986, the Board directed staff to
proceed with advertising. If all proceeds well this item should
come up for Board approval in late September, 1986.
During the discussion it was brought to my attention that
Riverside National Bank may be looking for a buyer for their
temporary headquarters on Okeechobee Road.
By copy of this letter I am instructing Jim Lawson, our
Purchasing Agent, to contac~ Vernon Smith, President of Riverside
National Bank, and inquire as to this option.
Upon the results of his findings I will be in contact with you
concerning our course of action.
