Dear Valued Customer,
In reference to your question regarding the installation of MI Windows and Doors
1620 Series Vinyl Single Hung products in Florida without the use of a wood buck,
I can provide you with the following information:
The installation details found under FL 21637 include a page containing notes
about various installation requirements and variations. Note 3 states that a 99
1 x
buck over masonry/concrete is optional". Other notes like 4, 6 and 17 also provide
information for installations that do not use a wood buck during installation.
In many of the later pages showing installation details, there is a note pointing to
the wood buck that states "optional 1 x buck, see notes 3-7, sheet 1 ". This further
supports the information that the use of a 1x buck is optional, providing all of the
other necessary parts of the installation like fastener size and length are followed.
If you have any other questions relating to this, please feel free to contact me.
Sincerely,
Brent Sitlinger
