ST. LUCIE COUNTY WILL HOLD A PUBLIC HEARING
SCHEDULED ON TUESDAY, MARCH 9TH 2021 AT 6:00PM AT
THE ROGER POITRAS ADMINISTRATION BUILDING, FLOOR 3,
COMMISSION CHAMBERS, LOCATED AT 2300 VIRGINIA
AVENUE, FORT PIERCE, FLORIDA 34982.
The Florida Department of Economic Opportunity is making available
funding for Small Cities under the Florida Community Development Block
Grant-Coronavirus (CDBG-CV) program. The CDBG-CV program is
designed to help local governments prepare for, prevent, or respond to the
health and economic impacts of COVID-19. The activities must be critical to
their locality and primarily for the benefit of low- and moderate-income
residents.
The CDBG-CV Small Cities program will be funded through a combination
of three rounds of CDBG-CV allocations received from HUD for a total
amount of $41,931,595. St. Lucie County can request up to $5 million from
this program and at least $200,000.
The following activities are eligible for funding: Acquisition, Public
Improvements, Public Facilities, Business Assistance, Microenterprise
Assistance, Public Services such as rental or mortgage assistance,
Planning, and Broadband Planning and Public Infrastructure.
St. Lucie County is considering submitting an application for broadband
infrastructure for low to moderate income (LMI) areas in the amount of
$5,000,000.

The hearing may be continued from time to time as may be necessary.
Matters affecting your personal and property rights may be heard and acted
upon. Meeting minutes will be taken.
The public will be able to physically attend this meeting, but seating in the
Chambers will be regulated to comply with social distancing protocols.
Members of the public who do attend are required to wear masks or similar
devices which cover the nose and mouth, pursuant to Emergency Order
20-044, unless they are covered by an exemption.
All interested persons are invited to attend and be heard. The public will be
able to submit questions and comments electronically by emailing
legislativeaffairs@stlucieco.org. Residents without access to the Internet
can comment by written mail. Comments should be addressed to St. Lucie
County Board of County Commissioners Attention: Legislative Affairs 2300
Virginia Ave., Fort Pierce, FL 34982. Comments will be included in the
record provided the comments comply with the County's rules. All
comments must be received by noon on the day prior to the meeting.

The proposed CDBG activities will not result in displacement and will
therefore, not require the UGLG anti-displacement and relocation plans as
required under 24-CFR 570.488.
