Contractor: Venice Commercial Services Parcel ID#: 3412-141-0002-000-2 Project Location: 6603 S Indian River Drive Property Size: 0.85 acres Project Description: Applicant requests exemption for the removal of grass associated with construction of a 4’x80’ concrete walkway (Building Permit #2103-0009). Per Land Development Code 6.00.04.E. this activity qualifies for an exemption. Field Notes: 1. HABITAT: a. Uplands: Residential b. Wetlands: None observed by staff. Please note this does not constitute a state or federal jurisdictional determination and all formal wetland delineations must be obtained from appropriate state and/or federal agencies. 2. WILDLIFE: None observed. 3. SIGNIFICANT ARCHAEOLOGICAL OR HISTORIC FINDINGS: The site is within an archaeological zone; any requirements will be included as conditions of the Building Permit. Mitigation: No mitigation is required per LDC 6.00.04. Exemption #20210302 provides authorization for the removal of grass. No native vegetation is permitted to be removed at this time. Post Clearing Requirements: 1. Landscaping: The landscape requirements of one native tree per 2,500 square feet of property, up to a maximum of 17 trees, must be met. As this property is .0.85 acres (acres X 43,560 = square feet of this property) 37,026 square feet, (square feet/2,500 = trees), 15 trees (measuring 2.5” diameter at breast height (DBH) & 12’ HT), or a total of 37.5” DBH of trees are required. Since this property contains well over this amount in existing native trees, this requirement is considered satisfied. Please note that landscaping requirements are separate from, and in addition to, tree mitigation requirements. PLEASE BE ADVISED THAT ANY NATIVE VEGETATION DESTROYED OR DAMAGED OUTSIDE OF THE LIMITS OF CLEARING DUE TO CONSTRUCTION ACTIVITIES OR FILL PLACEMENT SHALL BE MITIGATED AT A RATIO OF 4:1 (4 INCHES OF REPLANTING FOR EACH INCH DESTROYED OR DAMAGED).
